Off Road Improvements

Hey guys I'm new to jeeps i just got my 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0L V6 last summer and haven't done much to it other than put on new tires, a new top, and some corner panel covers and headlight covers for looks. Any tips on what i can do to improve its off road ride? I took it to Fossil Creek, AZ about two weeks ago and the dirt road on the way in was pretty much all wash board....and let me tell you the ride was ROUGH lol. Do i need new springs? shocks? help a newb out!

First off-road improvement would be to find the "V" part of the 4.0l V6 motor.

Do you know what kind of lift is on it? Or shocks?

Those shocks could be shot... I've never owned ranchos but from what I hear, their cheaper models arn't so hott. However, Bilstein is a great name in shocks, im looking into the 5100's myself!
