the first day i got my tj i got beeped at by a jk it was great, my tj is stock (for now) but its my mail delivery/dd so sometimes when i wave i dont think people see it because im driving on the "right" side lol i hate when i dont get waved back at it makes me sad i also notice that its mostly older jeeps that wave and not the jk's and also the little punks in their modded jeeps i guess they think they are to good to wave back to me in my stockie

I try to give a wave every time, no matter the model (sometimes I miss...). My son (age 12) cracks up at me, asking "You really like that, don't you?" And I was like, "Yup! We're back in 'the club' now!" And he does it now with me.

As for those that don't wave or wave back, a lot of times I have noticed that the driver looks more like a soccer mom, or a weekend warrior. They look like anything BUT a Jeeper. I just think to myself, "give them time... They will come around!"

My first Jeep salesman in 1989 told a requirement for ownership was to wave at all other Jeep club members.

I'm currently in Afghanistan, but since I have been gone, my wife has been driving my Jeep a bit. One topic of conversation on the phone the other day was about all the Jeep drivers that wave at her. Since they wave at her, she feels obligated to wave back. At first she thought it was cool, but now she says it is getting a bit annoying. One thing is for sure, there is no shortage of Jeeps in the Tampa Bay area.

Lots of waves back in the Medford, OR area. Lots of jeeps here too. It's difficult not to wave for me since I usually drive my TJ or ride my Goldwing. Bikers are the most reliable 'wavers' and it doesn't usually matter what kind or make of bike it is.

I have only been a jeep owner for few weeks and did not know about
the Jeep wave until I read this thread last week. We finally have week
with no rain in the forcast and every one has there top off driving around
and everybody waved.
They should tell you the rules at the stealership. It might be a selling
point to let people know they are joining an exclusive club.

I'm new to the Jeep thing but am enjoying all the waving! I live in Oklahoma and everybody waves here, for the most part. I'm always paranoid and looking in my mirrors, worried that I might have missed a Jeep passing me up. I wave at everybody and am even getting my wife and six year old daughter in on it.

I went for a motorcycle ride today and it was a beautiful day so there were a lot of bikes out. I was riding most the day one handed because I was waving back to other riders and also waving at the jeeps!! Hahaa. Plenty jeeps on the road today too!

Wave from Florida

We consider not waiving akin to cussing in church......it's important to us small town Florida folks.

I was in Long Beach this week, and I saw a Jeep and I waved. The guy waved back, I was surprised. But, being in "gaytown" Long Beach, I got off that street A.S.A.P. Something in my mind said, "must leave, must get away now".

Learned "The Wave" about 20 minutes after taking ownership of my first Sahara Unlimited in '09. Up here in the Great North Woods it's usually a lift of the fingers of the right hand off the steering wheel. Only time I've seen it ignored was by college-aged females too busy talking on their cell phones. :/

I'm constantly finding new things to love about my Jeep. I never figured that it would help my kiddos with math skills though...We keep a running tally of "Jeep waves returned" and when we get home it's a race to see who can figure out the percentage first. Then we recalculate to discount any women with children in JKs.

had the jeep out last weekend. Came out from having lunch with the wife and pointed out a nice stock LJ in the parking lot. My wife sweetly asked, so we wave at those? I laughed and confirmed yes we wave to LJ's - I am helping her become selective in her jeep waves.
