Well I drive a JKU and I wave to all Jeeps. Don't care if it's clean or dirty or raised or stock 2 or 4 door.

I try. But the farther away from the city, the harder I try. In the city waving can get you some weird looks. Sorry if I missed any waves.

Too many non wavers in the Dr. Phillips, Orlando FL area. Mostly newer models and hardtops. But there are a few around there.

A new owner (possibly in jest) was asking if the "WAVE" was for all Jeeps, like Cherokee, Liberty, Compass etc.... I told him it's just for Wranglers and their predecessors, not for any other JINOs!

I don't normally wave at stock cherocars and grandcherocars but I do wave at All lifted jeeps. No matter the model

So, as I'm driving my husband's truck today, a tj is coming towards me and out is habit, I give the 2 finger from the steering wheel wave, and I got a wave back! He's probably wondering, why did I just give a jeep wave to a truck? lol

So, the mrs and I were out looking at houses this weekend in the yj. It was beautiful weather in New England. heading down a nice side road we came across a white tj doorless with a soft top. I waved, as I always do, and the prick flipped us off. I was stunned. I drive a 90 yj 2" lift 31" duratracs, and we never have a top on. Its pretty clear we are jeep people.

Has anyone else experienced this rogue behavior? Was it one of you I came across???

I have found out that i get waves from every type of jeep when my jeep is topless. But when the top is on, i only get waves from other yjs hahah. I feel like the newer jeep owners are prejudice and dont know what the wave is really about.

I wave at other Jeeps a lot, but most Jeep drivers on Kirtland Air Force Base do not wave or even look at other Jeeps. Of course there are a lot of engineer/scientist types on the base, maybe from Berkley. Just sayin! I bet they think a Jeep is just another car. Maybe they don't know a Jeep CJ or Wrangler is not a car, truck or even suv, it is a JEEP!

Come to Phoenix! It was a gorgeous gorgeous Jeep day today (mid-80s not a cloud in sight) and I got many waves returned! There are a lot of Jeeps around here.

Got snubbed by a JK and a TJ . BOTH were a full hand wave, with nothing but a deer in the headlights looking back at me! I will still keep on waving!

Gotta ignore those Cherokees. Wave is for Wranglers. Besides - Cherokee is just a JINO (Jeep in name only), not a true JEEP!

Yeah the only time you wave to a cherokee is if they wave to you first.

Most of the time cherokee owners that wave will have their cherokee lifted and have aftermarket parts and a snorkel. Because the cherokee owner that waves to you first most likely owns a wrangler.

Otherwise they are just waving because they feel left out and want to feel appreciated.

I find myself guilty of not giving the wave on rare occasions. Its not out of disrespect..Sometimes I get so caught up looking at the Jeep that i forget the wave..especially if it is heavily modded. Nine times out of ten though I get wave in...But I have fully educated my wife and kids on the Jeep wave so when my kids or wife drive the Jeep they wave.

Were they stock? I find the popularity of Jeeps in Colorado means there are many non-Jeepers driving stock Jeeps. I wave to all, but usually only get a wave back from modified Jeeps who understand what it is to be a Jeeper.

Now THAT is pretty rude! I've never had that happen before, but on the upside, in Lancaster Pa, a guy took both hands off the steering wheel & flashed me a "BOTH HANDS" wave! ||||/ \||||. YAY!

Funny... As for waving to Jeeps other than Wranglers, I don't often even notice them...but I almost always see the Wranglers.

I love waving both hands above the windshield when the top is off. There have been times where i do that with the occasional left foot wave when there is no door. lets just say its a skill that takes time to master, especially when you drive a stick.

I usually flip off hummers, since the owners of the damn things seem to think they rule the all mighty dirt roads. or just roads in general. assholes.

Funny you mention the hummer flip...

The other day my brother and i were driving in a 95 sahara and we saw a hummer stopped at the red light. As we were making a left hand turn at the light my brother gives a thumbs up to the hummer..

The hummer driver smiles and was about to give a thumbs up also but my brother quickly then gave a thumbs down.

The look on his face was priceless.

You win some, you lose some... in this case, he lost some.

I feel I need to confess - I have accidentally missed some Jeep waves, and therefore, I could not wave back in time. I know I missed about 4 last week around OKC, and more before that, so if you feel I have missed your wave, please accept this as a replacement wave for the time I missed your wave.

Unhappy Some People

So here I am, dog sitting for my sister and brother in law. They just got married and are on their honey moon. They come back tomarrow. So I take the dogs for a walk. I see some one driving a black JK. I wave with the leash in my hand. I could swear it looked like she scowled at me.

What the hell? Granted I wasnt driving my Jeep at the time and she had no way of knowing that I have a Jeep, but to scowl or give a dity look.

I hope she has a better day though.
