Jeep owner is a jeep owner, I nwave at EVERYTHING now... b4 i would only wave at wranglers and cjs but i was talking to my Wife who has an XJ and she said she feels left out and other XJ's wont wave at her... so I decided if its a jeep it gets a wave (except the compass that's a dodge caliber with a jeep badge)

A year ago I couldn't get a wave returned from a JK. Now they are waving back and at times even initiating. I'm 6 for 6 from JKs this week. Getting better all the time.

got a verry enthusiastic wave today from a TJ owner, older guy with his wife...
I started with the standard peace sign as I always do and got the "excited little kid wave" in return, so I, in turn, returned the "e.l.k. Wave"
FUN DAY, too bad it's gonna rain |

| I just got my Sahara a month ago, I wave at every jeep I see (even if its on the highway). My jeep is stock (so far anyway), I would expect that ALL jeep drivers would do the wave
I thought that (for the most part) you guys played nice with eachother? Wouldn't it be easier to just regardless? Its a JEEP!!! Don't bust my bubble boys.

There are alot of jeeps around here. Most JK's don't wave back, I guess they just don't get it yet. Some days every jeep waves, some days no body waves. I waved at a YJ the other day and he returned with a rock on sign. Thought that was pretty cool, I've never had someone wave back like that before.

I see too many soccer moms in JKs (but some are hot, so that's cool), so alot of times I only half-heartedly wave at the 4-doors knowing I probably won't get a return wave.
Oh, and I want to all of the lifted Dodge pickups with GIANT dual exhausts and really big tires whose owners think they've built God's gift to the off-road world....but I don't. | I second you on the Dodge comment! I laugh everytime I see some clown in a truck just like you described blowing clouds of smoke all the way down mainstreet thinking hes tough as hell. It looks to me like they are dumpinig too much fuel in their cylinders and not running right. You forgot the "Stroke This" sticker in the back window in your description.
I wave to everything that has a Jeep badge on it. I rarely get a wave back from a JK but thats not the JKs fault so I will keep saluting the jeeps and respecting the drivers that wave back! |

I actually got 5 waves within an hour of running around town yesterday.
I have a 16yr. old daughter, just recently licensed, and I've been teaching her about the Jeep wave. At first she rolled her eyes, but now she watches out for other Wranglers as much as I do!

The Jeep wave here in New Mexico seems to be dying... When I got my Jeep 6 years ago is seemed like every wrangler I came across would either initiate or return the wave. But now Im lucky to get one wave out of every 10 Jeeps I see...

I got a sweet story. Bought my flame red Jeep Wrangler about 3 weeks ago. As I was pulling off the lot of the dealership, another Jeep was going bye on the feeder road I was turning out onto...and he waved.
I had my Jeep for less than 30 seconds and I got a wave...(And you better believe I waved back...probably looked like the biggest fruitcake cause I was so giddy...but nontheless!)

Another reason Hummers suck. My friend has a H3 and we pass a SH1t ton of them, none of the wave! Even when i wave from the passenger seat .

Lots of waves here in Indiana.
Question, do any of you find yourself starting to wave at another Jeep, even when you're in a different vehicle? I've caught myself a number of times while in the wife's van or my old S10...

I was driving the wifes Jk the other day and came up on a Hummer, when my daughter made a joke about a chromed out Hummer turning into Mickey D's I started laughing. The guy turns and see me looking with this shit eatin grin on my face and starts waving like Miss America. So yes the Jeep wave lives...now even Hummers are now wavin at us!

Seeing as how Hummers are actually based on the Suburban platform, I wonder if they wave at them too..?

Thanks Joe. I feel better now. There just aren't any other jeeps around to wave at. There are so few on the roads around here that I'm sure none of them have ever heard of the jeep wave.

I am finding one thing weird...of all the Jeeps out there, JK's in Detonator Yellow are THE WORST at waving...
I'm in a JK and its Flame Red...I have a 100% wave policy to other Jeeps (granted I see them)
