Muffler bearings and blinker fluid. That never gets old! Don't forget the piston return springs!

I live in SLC and I wave all of the time but have only gotten one wave back. If I saw you - I would wave at you whether you are stock or not.

BTW - I am still stock - just waiting on my parts to get here.

Jeepers

Yesterday, after being sworn in to the jeep nation, my daughters had the unbeatable priveledge of riding in my jeep! They were utterly amazed at how many other "jeepers" out there waved to me. Such comaraderie!!!! .. Think they were jealous !!! Go Jeep nation !!!

Yesterday driving through Charleston - small town in Utah - I saw a jeep and waved - younger guy and he waved back! So if you see this Mr. Charleston - thanks for making my day!

I have to share this conversation.... on my way home tonight

Husband "How are you liking your toy?"

Me "I LOVE MY TOY - I need to get my mods installed because people will think I am a mallcrawler unless I get them installed and nobody will wave to me. Honey - did you know there is a jeep wave?"

Husband "No"

Me "yes, we are to wave at all jeeps but you can't wave at just any jeep like a jeep cherokee, only wranglers and rubicons"

Me "We need to change out some stock bolts - it is an engineering defect and causes death wobbles - there are youtube videos on it - you need to see it but we can get the bolts at Ace Hardware - it won't cost a lot"

Husband "Ok, we can talk about it when you get home"

"Me - I really want to go off road and learn how to really drive this jeep in the mud, etc. We need to go with some people so I can learn these things"

Husband "Ok, we will talk about it but I am not interested in all of the rock crawling"

Me "I don't want to do the HARD STUFF but there is plenty of fun stuff to do"

Bottom line - I needed to educate him about a couple of things - I surely didn't want him driving my jeep and not waving to anyone.

Haha I had to do the same exact thing when I let one of my close friends take my jeep for the day. I told him to wave at every jeep wrangler. I didn't want my jeep labeled as a jeep that didn't wave haha

I remember my first Jeep wave. I had no clue about it. My previous car was a Honda Prelude. So for the most part, I was totally used to other preludes, civics, and integras pulling up beside me, staring me down, and trying to race and/or cut me off. I flew all the way up to NY from FL to get my Jeep and drove it all the way back here. Once I got on the road, it wasn't long before I ran into another Jeep. I remember it was a JKUR Orange Crush. I was hesitant to pull up beside it, but I was dying to check it out. I pulled up slowly beside his driver window all timid . I was so anticipating a dirty look and for him to go speeding off lol. Instead he looked over and made eye-contact. He was some bad-ass looking buff surfer dude with some shades on and he smiled and gave me the "cowabunga/surfs up" thumb and pinky wrist pivot lol. I was so in shock from not getting the middle finger that I forgot to wave back. I definitely made sure to wave at every other wrangler for the next thousand miles.

P.S. If you are out there, awesome dude with the JKUR crush headed south on I95, pardon my ignorance

I had a red YJ beet me to the wave this morning on the way to work, in Tomball, TX. I wave at every Jeep I see JK, TJ, YJ, CJ (of all varieties), and all the rest, but usually the non-JK jeeps ignore me, I figure because I am in a stock JK. I'm curious to see if it makes a difference after I put my new bumper on next week.

Anyway, it was a nice change of pace.

Happy Jeeping!

I knew about the wave from a friend a number of years ago. Got my JKU a couple months ago and quickly got my first wave from a lifted Jeep with some seriously beefy tires. I got my wave off instantly. Spent the rest of my drive home feeling awesome that a modded Jeep owner waved at me in my stock JKU. I wave at every Jeep that I see. If I don't get one back, no worries... sometimes we just don't notice and are off in our own little world.

This guy at my job just picked up a 2011 Rubi and he tells me he doesnt wave and that its stupid, pointless, and a waste of his time.

So on my way back to the shop today, I stopped at the Nissan dealer, grabbed a brochure for the Nissan Quest minivan, the salesmans business card and left them on his drivers seat.

Philly resident here. We got a lot of stock JKs around here and I'd say most of them don't wave. A good portion do though. Me and my JK wave at everyone! There are a few modified Cherokees around I'll throw a wave at. It's not just a "Wrangler" wave, it is a "Jeep" wave after all.

Here in OKC, I see Wranglers every time I leave the house. I've had mine ('14 JKU) for three weeks, and I wave at every Wrangler that comes my way. I think only one has waved back at me. I knew before buying it that the Jeep Wave was a thing, but I wasn't prepared to be the only one doing it.

While filling up at a gas station, another guy in a JKU Sahara pulled into the pump just in front of me, and I expected some exchange of Jeep fueled camaraderie, but he didn't even give me and/or my beastly machine a second look. It's almost like Jeep owners here are miffed or jealous because they're not the only Jeep owners. I don't get it. I love seeing these beasts creeping around the city, personally. Too bad they're all too often piloted by snobs.

I would imagine that there's a greater chance of receiving a wave from the modded Jeeps since there's a greater chance they've checked out Jeep forums and have become aware of the wave. With the stock Jeeps, there's a chance that they've never been exposed to the tradition.

That's why I try to expose myself as much as possible.

By waving that is, what did you think I meant?
