I was drunk the other evening and a guy pulled up in a hummer with those small short 7 slots in it, I told him it was a poor imitation of a Jeep

(no I DID NOT wave at him)

Yea I was but heres my sober assessment of the differences between Jeeps (any model) and hummer (all of them)

Jeep.
best not just in class, just best,
do what you want to it its accepted, fix it yourself and its easy, fun to drive, GREAT for work, pulls anything, modifiable cheaply and it STILL looks good, lots of instant friends just because you have a Jeep, plenty of leg room, you can open the windows, take the top down or even off, doors come off without the assistance of a bmw at high speed, locked or open diffs doesn't matter they go anywhere, (and I do mean anywhere).

Hummer
Total complete waste of Chinese steel, plastic and whatever that shiny stuff is.

Q: is there a particular *type* of wave expected?

'cause mine has been kinda looking exactly like this:

and i'm worried ...is that a little gay. mebbe it's just supposed to be 4 fingers raised off the steering wheel.

so the next thing i'm expecting is someone to stop and fuss at me for not having my rainbow sticker in my back window. you know, because i'm gay and all. they can tell by *how* i jeepwave.

(i don't mean a single thing i just poasted )

(here, these are for you: put them in some water)

So does two fingers extended over the steering wheel.

I definitely won't stop waving but I've become saddened by it lately (okay, not really but it sounds more dramatic, or maybe kinda gay...either way). My point is that I almost always got a wave around here from fellow Jeepers when I had my YJ, then my TJ. Recently I picked up a JK (gasp!) after pretty much driving the TJ to its death. Now, despite being a long time Jeeper, I get no love. Granted, my mods so far are minimal (stubby bumper, larger tires, plastidip rims, and damn...an upside down mirror!) but still, I haven't even gotten waves back when I initiate them. C'mon NE Ohio Jeepers, don't be tools and throw some Jeep love back my way. You'll recognize me as the guy with the arm out the window in a driving snowstorm waving at you!!

How about daily wavers? I drive the same route to work at the same time everyday and I wave to the same jeeps everyday.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to get them to pull over so I could meet them lol

I always hold out four fingers similar to the bikers holding out two. Nobody seems to catch it.....

Picked my new rig last week and already have two waves under my belt. It's alive and well in Austin.

Lately I have seen tons of Wranglers and I have ONLY gotten a wave from 2 of them. It made me so happy to finally get a wave again! 2 older gentlemen that are obviously true Jeepers!

It seems like it comes and goes here. I'll have a few days where I see a ton and and get waves from most then I see some and no one waves and then there are times I feel like I am the only Jeep owner in the area. LOL

I actually get a good amount of waves here in Pensacola, Fl. I was actually sitting at a light going to work one Saturday and saw about five Jeeps going through the intersection they all waved. I wanted to follow them they looked like they were heading out to some trails! Damn work! :bangshead:

I had a kid who was driving a Geo Tracker Soft Top give me the wave the other week. I had a good laugh and returned the wave out of courtisy. At least he knew to salute the higher ranking vehicle.

I have found Delaware really depends on a couple Key Factors. Weather, Location, and Time of day. Crappy weather minus snow No one waves, depending on the road you are on, Out main hwy RT 13 is very hit or miss, Back roads are good for getting waves, and Major Highways don't even bother. And last Morning is a good time to get some waves During the day is hit more miss and evening don't even bother. That's how I see it as far as Delaware. (maybe i looked into it a little to much)

And PS Naggs head Outbanks NC is not the best place to wave because half the jeeps are rentals.

I have only been a Wrangler owner for about 4 months now and thought it was really cool the first wave I got now I wave at all Jeeps old, small, big, I don't care shoot I even find myself waving at the old mail Jeeps for the most part I get alot of waves back. The wife took the Jeep to do some running today I told her not to forget to wave at the Jeeps she got back and was dissappointed that she didn't see any to wave at.LOL

Don't Worry,
No matter how you wave, no one will ask you to put a rainbow on your Jeep. Your wave is all you will need!

I wave at JKs all the time, any JEEP actually. I figure JK drivers may be new to the wave thing and just not know any better.

Recently I sold my YJ to my sister in law (created another Jeeper chick)
She called me and asked how I knew so many people because everyone was waving at her. When she learned about the wave she thought it was great, waves at everyone now.LOL

A new and different perspective---well for me anyway.

For those of you who may not know--I have an '04 TJ not a total off road beast, but obviously not stock, and I get waves usually from MOST jeeps. It has been that way since I got it in '04 when it was bone stock.

I recently purchased a '12 JK Sport, (for her) we took a road/ shopping trip yesterday about 200 miles round trip. I felt like a "redheaded step child". Very few waves, even when I initiated the wave, and the only ones returned were by fellow JKs.

Just kinda makes me wonder WTF!??

And to make things worse, she is trying to figure out, when driving by herself, when to wave---I told her if it is a Jeep ----- wave. We can sort out Liberty Cherokee or whatever later. I will give her credit though she has said that "some of them are just rude".

Yeah bud. The new ink is on it's way. And as we discussed on the phone the other day, I will be testing it on my wife's cover before I put it on yours. We also discussed how I was building the setup to do these covers so we knew it would take some time. I appreciate your patience my friend.
