Here in MD at least where i live its kinda hit and miss. I am a JK owner and i wave most of the time and get waves back. Actually when i bought my JK, my sales guy told me that if he saw me on the road, he would expect a wave back.

There is a steady decline in jeep waves. No offense to JK owners or soccer moms, but what it means to own and truly drive a jeep is lost on many these days. I will continue to give the acknowledgement and hope they pick up on it.

Do we still have to wave to a Jeep owner that had their Jeep painted pink?

my rules of waving are not affected by color so more or less depends on the Jeep as dirrected by the rules I follow and of course if they wave first then it's automatic wave return if I see the wave

My wife drives her new 2012 Sahara Unlimited and waves at everyone...sometimes she doesn't wave back at me when I am driving her old 2009 Sahara 2 door...I think she has become one of those Unlimited snobs...well, only to me. Got to love it!!!

I wave to all Jeeps that I see. I would say that I get a wave back about 75% of the time. Sometimes they wave out of instinct and then stare at me to see if they know me. I just smile and keep waving.

Are you supposed to wave at some one towing a jeep on a trailer?

I would, simply because 99% of the time its a Jeeper who either needed it brought home or is transporting it somewhere

I wave to everyone, but I am sad to report that since trading in my '05 X, which was lifted and dirty, for my '12 JKUR almost no one is waving back. I attribute some of that to the fact that all the tourist Jeeps in Hawaii are JKUs (and they never wave back) so people don't even bother waving at JKs now. I get that, but I am obviously initiating the wave and it still rarely gets returned. Of course, some of that may be that I actually have my doors on now, so people aren't seeing my arm fully extended in a shaka anymore. I'm sure after a few mods people will consider it a "real" Jeep again and start returning the wave.

I've decided to enjoy the novelty of a clean interior for a little while this time, at least for the next month or so until I deploy. When I get back all bets are off, and so are the doors and roof .

Maybe. Having moved to a JKU from a modded JK where the waves were abundant and not anymore, it's more the non JK/JKU people who don't know what it's like to be a Jeeper anymore. So thanks for waving at JKUs. Some of us wave too.

Absolutely.... they feel all 'entitled' because they have those two extra doors and more storage room.

When I had my old CJ5's I used to see this little import car every morning on the back roads going the opposite direction.

I tried the "Jeep Wave" on that car every morning. Took a few weeks but the driver started waving back every single morning.

As the weeks, and months, progressed the little hat and gloves covered frowny face behind the wheel turned into this gorgeous little blonde who would smile ear to ear and wave enthusiastically.

Never knew what happened to her but I wonder sometimes if she smiles on her way to work every morning in her Jeep smiling and waving at people.

"better to give than receive"

Chuck the attitudes and wave freely.

Just my opinion on the "Jeep Wave".

i also want to add.. sometimes when my friends give me rides or im driving another car, i wave at wranglers still and laugh at myself after i realize im not even in a jeep.. haha!

She may not be worth much to look at but rides nice and has a nice interior and 30mpg! Anywho the yellow TJ driver just looked at me we were passing each other slow enough for him to give me the wtf look ha

Don;t laugh at my wifes Liberty, it may look like a spaceship inside and run as quiet as a luxury car, but at 49 years old working all our lives we deserve it, and well...at least its a Jeep.
Now on to more important matters, as for your comment of your Jeep eating stock jeeps, bring it down here to Va, I got a mostly all stock 01 Wrangler and I'd LOVE go with ya where ever around here you can go I may not get back but I'll dam sure love getting there
