Not lazy. Not stuck up. I just believe a Jeep is a Willys/CJ/Wrangler. All those others to me are just not Jeeps. Only Jeeps get the Jeep wave from this feller UNLESS they wave. Then I always wave just to be nice.

I know it's not just me too.

I do like the tuff looking cherokees. They will always get my wave.

Went down to the beach today and my little sister was sitting in the back. A jeep was in the distance I turned around and said Stella this jeep coming up I need you to do the biggest goofiest wave you can do. Yall this tj drove by and Stella waved both arms like some bee was attacking her. The drive without skipping a beat did the same thing back to her. It was great

So, uh, when you pass someone going the same direction as you (i.e. another lane in the same direction) do you try to wave? Lately I've run up on or been passed by a few Wranglers (JK/U if it really matters) and wasn't quite sure if I should wave or not since it seems like it would be nearly impossible that the other driver would even notice in that situation.

oh they notice you. they be blind or are wanabe hummer owners to not notice pulling up next to another Jeep. when in that situation.. do whats safest.. turn your head, smile and a give a quick nod of recognition is what I usually do.. sometimes if there on the passenger side I'll give a wave

So..

I'm thinking off getting something like this made:

1. Is this corny or not?

I'll probably add it to the back glass of the hard top.

2. How big should it be? Ad says 6 x 6 - should I get it bigger?

I could make these for you. If you haven't got them yet. Send me a PM. I think it's a fine little design. A little more space around the J though. Will look blended in from farther away.

JK wavers are few and far between. I think I get 1 out of 10 to wave back. Kind of sad that not only jeepers but people in general don't wave back.

I wave!

I wave at all the Wranglers I see, but sadly most don't wave back. At least in Phoenix. We recently just drove back to MI and back and it seemed like people tended to wave alot more in other areas. I still always wave though just because I don't want to be the jerk that doesn't!

One day I was waiting to pull out into traffic and another Jeep came along and stopped all the traffic for me to pull out. Things like that make me proud to be a part of this community!

I wave at every jeep. Dont really pay attention if they wave back or not. Some make it obvious when they wave back and i notice. Others tho who knows

I give a wave, almost always but think it's cool, kinda funny too in a good way, to see a brand new Jeep with someone behind the wheel who isn't quite sure if they're supposed to wave or not and the look of releif on their faces when someone returns theirs!

Boooya!

as a biker... we usually wave other bikers... just to say HI... very cool when you have your helmet ON... but driving... is kind of WTF!

anyway, even before i got my Jeep... i heard about this wave thing... after i got my Jeep Wranger... it was a little embarrassing to wave somebody with a Jeep.. it feels weird with no helmet ON... eeewwww... but after a while... it became normal...

anyway... i got a lot of "wave" driving my Jeep... this afternoon... this guy just roll out his windows put his hand out and waved... (still wtf!)

I wave at every jeep I see, and have never gotten a single wave back. Today I thought I had my first till I realized the guy was flicking a cigarette out the window. Oh well...

I totally dig the wave.

I do it every day to the same jeeps I encounter on my DD. Don't care.
if it is a Wrangler, I wave.

Saw a BIG ol' line of Jeeps on my way home going through an intersection all dirty from a run on my way home from work today.
Tons of waving all around to the envy of those driving lesser vehicles.

I always let other Wranglers pull out.
Also always wave, don't always notice if they wave back but if they don't that's their problem not mine.

I always wave, though I find mostly only TJ and YJ drivers wave back. Have never gotten a wave from a JK driver, though I once had a CJ driver pull along side and start chatting while we sat at a light.

Had a guy in a JK wave to me the other day on my way home from work... he actually waved twice thinking that I didn't see him the first time.

Only time I was ever waved to in my JKU was when it was covered in mud. Now in the JKR I get waves all the time.

why is the "jeep community wave" so broken up anyhow.. whats the point? so i started resulting to the middle finger solely.. seems to get more of a reaction than the typical wave.. had some dude follow me home after the middle finger wave,, and asked what my problem was.. i simply said " its a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand "

In the 90's when I had my YJ every jeep (CJ's & YJ's) waved and it was great. Now that I got my JKU I might get a wave here and there. Though back then the YJ was what the JK is today and some CJ's (purests) didnt wave as they didnt except the YJ; and eventually the YJ was excepted. I expect the JK will be excepted too in the near future, if it isnt already.

I passed 4 jeeps this morning, 3 JK's and a TJ, and I waved at all of them and not a one waved back. I guess times have changed and think more people buy a jeep now for an SUV rather than a Jeep and they dont get the brotherhood.

Jeep Waves

I am in Holland this week, and I was wishing I had my Jeep here with me. I bet it would be fun to wave at all the dutch Jeepers, BUT guess what - with gas at over $11 per gallon, I have not actually seen any Jeep Wranglers here this week. I saw one Compas, and that probably does not count?

I am looking forward to next weekend, I am driving from Chicago to central PA - near Altoona. Hoping to drive up into the mountains a bit and to also wave at every Wrangler I see.

I have a JK and I always wave, but I notice not many people actually wave back. How come more people aren't on board with this? Lol. I have noticed the JKU's rarely wave. I have gotten only 1 wave from a JKU. I always park next to another wrangler if I can. I like when other people do that too. I come out and see one next to me and I feel like "oh! We're buddies!!"

Wow! I haven't gotten that many in one day. Haha hope to though. I guess we just have to be persistent.
