A few weeks ago a Compass stopped in his long line of traffic to let me out of the bank parking lot. If fellow Wranglers don't wave around here it's because they aren't paying attention. I've had people right next to me not look twice, and then others who will flag me down over two lanes of traffic. It can be random. I wave whether or not they're looking. They might be, that's all that matters

I've had my jeep for just over a month.

Ive totaled 1 wave.

Is it NJ where people are too cool to adhere to the jeep stereotype?

WAVE PEOPLE!

A JK is still a wrangler. I wave at almost all Jeeps!
The roads I live on are privately owned, and poorly maintained. But they are paved nonetheless. That being said when it snows they are seldom plowed. So just the other day I was driving off of the mountain to hit the General Store I busted a huge powerslide around a turn, and to my surprise there was a little old man in a Ford Ranger coming up the road a couple hundred feet away. As he got closer I was worried he would report my brash and flamboyant driving to the landowners society, but much to my delight (as he got closer) he greeted me with a huge grin, laughter, and a thumbs up out the window.

Gotta love southern hospitality. was in a great lil restaurant in NC.. the food was really outstanding and I commented to a random senior citizen passerby " isn't this place great?? how was your breakfast this morning?" in my defense, it was a beautiful spring morning.. Her response "Damn Yankees"
Lest We Forget.

In Pittsburgh, I use the full on thumbs up Fonzie wave.

When you pass the majority of Jeeps in South Carolina or western Virginia, it's just natural to throw a hand up and get a wave in return. And it is a Jeep thing, whether it's modded or not! Funny how certain sections of the country view that.

A guy totally made my day about 20 minutes ago. He was in front of me, driving a JK like mine, but green, and I can never figure out how to wave at someone who is in front of or behind me. As he was making a left turn, he put down his window and gave me the low peace sign (like Harley folks) while smiling in his side-view mirror. Awesome! About two minutes later I got the wave from the jacked-up Cherokee - the only Cherokees that ever wave to a Wrangler. :-) Happy!

Thumbs up

On the central coast Cali. We generally wave at all modified jeeps. A simple rise of the hand off the wheel to look like your cool but not excited. Then the older CJ's and such get the thumbs up for a little respect. Stockers get nothing, unless they throw up a arm first.
Give some love...

If you keep waving, some of them will learn.
