Here in AZ I only get waves from people in modified wranglers. Never any stock ones.

Yesterday stopped in traffic a guy in a stock YJ with the top down, two cars ahead in the left lane, I'm in the right; turns around looks at me then proceeds to yell: "you're making us look bad!" ha ha I'll take that as a wave... here's what mine looked like

What cold weather??? LOL! It wasn't cold at all! Glad you got so many waves, I'm still not getting many, and I wave to everyone! I got the cold shoulder several times yesterday. Hmmm...maybe because Dewey got a bath!

Simply the difference between a "Jeeper" & a "Jeep Owner" It works as a wave though

Gotta love people like that, the world needs A LOT more like them. Around here, a lot of people with any true offroading vehicle will wave at each other regardless of vehicle make, model, & year. Usually Blazers, Broncos, RamChargers, & other older Chevy, Ford, & Dodge 4X4 pickups, & of course Jeeps. Some do, but a lot of the newer rigs are just mall crawlers

I swear I'm getting less waves now that about 50% of the jeeps are all topless around town...

Hmmm.

I...get maybe one or two a day. And I see 15 jeeps easy. I actually get more waves from lifted trucks!

Got wave ! Remember where the Jeep wave started .... WWII one Jeep headed away from the front.... With wounded soldiers meets on headed back to the front with replacements & supply's one driver waves at the other.... It was a way to tell friend from foe . It was reassuring .... So I say wave weather it is returned or not ... It's how you spread the love

I wave. There are so many Jeeps in my area that I get about a 20% return rate. But that's fine - I'll keep waving.

Then again, when I drive a little west, everybody waves... just because they're amazed that they see another person on the road.

Let my wife take the Jeep by herself for the first time the other day. When she came home, she was all excited that someone had Jeep waved at her. I asked her if she returned the wave. She did. I said, "Pretty cool, eh?" She admitted it did make her feel "kinda special." Although judging by the smile on her face, I think she felt more than "kinda" special.

She's slowly coming around to liking the JK.

Regarding my own waving, I will say that I do it as a salute to the history of the GP in WWII. As the granddaughter of a Bataan Death March survivor, I like to acknowledge that history. Salute the Jeep, not necessarily the driver.

I'm sure something similar to this has been posted, but I'm putting it here again anyway:

"During World War II the Jeep was always on the move, often running back and forth from the front lines delivering vital supplies or urgent messages, or to carry wounded soldiers, attempt rescues or bring reinforcements. Some say this is where the Jeep wave began as a way to know friend from foe or to acknowledge an officer without a salute that might alert enemies of a high ranking official. Or perhaps it was just a simple gesture from soldiers in one Jeep to another Jeep as they passed. A sign of camaraderie and respect between courageous souls in dark and dangerous times.

Other's say the Jeep wave began after the war when the soldiers returned home. During the war the Jeep had earned a place in the hearts of many soldiers and as a result, many of those who made it home, wanted to own their own Jeep. Often the drivers of Jeeps passing on roadways would wave at each other, as they knew most likely each other had served.

Finally some claim the wave began only when civilians started buying Jeeps and taking them off road. The shared fun and excitment of tackling seemingly impossible trails and obstacles in the nimble Jeep, naturally builds a kinship with other Jeepers. The wave acknowledges that shared understanding and appreciation of the Jeep's amazing capabilities and the enjoyment ownership can bring.

So next time you see a Jeep, give a wave and if you don't get one in return, don't be offended, just consider it a wave for the 'One and Only Jeep' and what it represents, our freedom and the brave souls who fought for it."

That's what I figured, but I had a hard time deciphering your post so I decided to clarify it.

I have not had any waves in my new Rubicon or the wife's Sahara. I have had one comment about the Sahara from a guy who really liked it because of the color. I only got occasional waves in the TJ i traded in on my JK.

When I drive my MR2 or 911 I always get waves or comments.

I'm so used to waving at every Jeep I see regardless of type or modification amount, that I was TCing a Stryker MGS the other day and I waved at a Jeep. Some habits are hard to break I guess. I've noticed that most every Jeep on post waves. But I get off post and run into a bunch of soccer mom's driving their husbands Jeeps that they have no idea why I'm waving at them, but it does happen occasionally!
