Does anyone wave at other Jeeps or solely Wranglers? (I'm a Wrangler snob!)
What if I have stock wheels and suspension but a Hemi under the hood? I think that equates to more than a few rock sliders, black wheels, and a 2.5" lift; wouldn't you agree?

So, basically the "rule" is wrong and should actually mention the person who has the Jeep with less VISUAL mods should wave first; sounds a bit RICERish if you ask me.

That all being said, I'm not gonna "bow" to anyone just because they have bigger wheels on their Jeep than I do on mine. If I spot him/her first I'll wave, and if he/she sees me first, I better get a wave. If someone stares right at me and doesn't wave just because of a lack of visual mods, that person can expect to not get a wave or any other sort of acknowledgement.

I only wave to Jeeps with double windshield wipers from Pep Boys, faux chrome hood vents, and LED lights on the windshield sprayers. This shows time and dedication to their rides and therefore earns my waves... Any body can throw on 35s, lifts, snorkels, etc...

Hey, I'm good with whoever sees who first! I just wanted to bring my decade old knowledge up to date. I prefer that it's all about the lifestyle, not the modifications. I (finally) drive a Wrangler because it's the only vehicle I've ever owned (twice) that makes me smile every single time I get in!

Installing triple-wiper blades shows true talent and creativity!

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what took me so long to get around to getting a Jeep, considering I've liked them since I was a kid. It all started with a brown Matchbox Renegade.

I've been excited about every new vehicle I've purchased but I can only recall being just as excited as I am about my Jeep when I got my 1971 El Camino.

I'm right there with you... it's usually me waving first. Even if I never get a wave back, I'll keep waving. It's definitely the vehicle that I love the most, and I am proud to be part of the Jeep Community! :-)

I'm going off the chain with my mods! I just ordered SILL GUARDS! I'm heading out tomorrow to get the triple blades, it would take them too long to get here from Amazon!

I wanted to get the chrome dress up kit first. Once I get that paid off, Ma says I can get the chrome light bar. But only if I eat all my supper.

I thought of a new one! Has anyone EVER waved at Wrangler with low profile tires and chrome rims?

I saw one the other day and yelled, "WTF?" (In ALL its glory!) It was repeated, word for word, by my toddler in back seat. Oops!

Nope, and wouldn't wave, either. I'd probably just shake my head and laugh.

Come to think of it, I've never seen one in person, and I hope I never do.

I'm "blessed" with one I see nearly every day. I want to walk up, put a gun to the grill and put the poor thing out of its misery. It looks so sad because it probably couldn't drive over a curb.

Is there a hip-hop Jeepers thread? If so, he's likely there. Jeep is black and everything that could be chromed is. Hard top, wife beater, pale noodle arms and hat on crooked to complete the picture.

On my way down to Ocracoke this past weekend, I think I was damn near 100% once I got off I-95 (even got one from a jacked up CJ going the opposite direction on the 95). I was shocked. Around here (DC Suburbs in MD) I'm 10-20% max. Thank you, Southern VA and North Carolina! I even got a wave from a few bikers (I was rollin with the top off at 55mph in a rainstorm/squall - I guess they were feeling my pain). Finally getting my dad to wave as well...it's been a struggle.

well...to each his own

to stay true to the thread though..I saw a bunch of jeeps yesterday and the only one to wave back was someone with they're top down also. Oh well..it would have taken me a while to catch on if the guy that we bought mine from hadn't instructed me to make SURE I waved at every other wrangler.

The only wave he'd be getting from me is a thumbs down.

My daughter and I went down to the oceanfront in Virginia Beach today to see some of the Air Show. Must have passed 30+ Jeeps (98% of them JKs), and only two waved back.....sheeeesh, what is happening to this area????

More and more richies are buying Jeeps and think they are better than you because their Jeep is pretty, and yours is useable

I always wave. Typically the only people who wave back is owner's of a TJ or older, and the few JK owners that aren't bone stock. Nothing against a bone stock Wrangler, but fact is most of them won't wave back.

I do notice the wave is bigger from people who have noticeably put some effort into making the Jeep their own. Driving through town the other day I passed a lot of Wranglers. They seem to be a pretty popular choice in Tucson. I got a few waves back, but the big jacked up army themed JKU that pulled out next to me was the only proper one. I threw mine out the open top and he threw his out the giant opening where he door was not.

Wish I could go doorless, but I've got 4 year olds riding in the back seat most of the time, so that's not gonna happen for a few years.

I get about 80% back here in central NC. I get less than 10% back when I'm driving the wife's Acadia, and forget I'm not in the Jeep.

I drove an 01 tj before the kids and remember 95%ish of people waving. Just bought an 08jku and now, three years later I only get about 10% people waving back. I know I'm surrounded by massholes, but c'mon man. How hard is it? 2 fingers?

'01 TJ was my last Jeep too. I think some of the old schoolers are trying to boycott the JK's, but I remember distinctly when the TJ first came out that everyone was doing the same thing with them. At least they went back to a round headlight then...

But seriously, although I loved my old TJ and admit I do miss that 4.0L, the 4 door option having kids makes the experience much more enjoyable. Especially since we have decided to be a 2 Jeep family. Doesn't matter which one we take, everything will fit in the back, I can go grocery shopping with the kids and still fit it all, and all without sacrificing the fun factor.

I loved my TJ, but these JKU's are much better suited for our needs now.

I don't own a Wrangler (yet!) but dealer let us take one home for the weekend to test drive and the waving might just be my favorite part.
