Been having the Jeep for a month now and I haven't noticed anybody attempting to wave. Must not be a thing here in SE Louisiana

I was raised in Livingston parish... I cant imagine jeeps not waiving! Hell, we all waved at each other no matter what we drove back in the day. Out in the country, that is.

Then you should be the one to start it being a thing.

It doesn't seem to be a thing where i live either. I have never had a Jeep wave at me first but have had them wave back.

But I still wave...

I'm sorry! That sucks. I'm starting to get antsy about it. I went out today and took the long way home cause it was raining and went in a dirt lot. But as soon as it dries up the windows are coming off. And when it warms up the top and doors are gone to!

I've gotten my 4 year old to wave at other Jeeps. He also likes to correct Mommy that "they're not cars-- they're Jeeps." Rock on, little man!

I was following an older TJ on the highway while commuting a few days ago. When he noticed, he rolled down his window (in 18 degree weather, minus the highway speed wind chill), stuck his arm out, and gave a fist-pump. It was priceless!

I was driving past a Cherokee the other day and I waved but he didn't. I guess Cherokee's don't get it. What a shame...

I didn't know about the wave until I test drove my first Jeep. I was pulling out of the parking lot and I got my first wave. I haven't missed a wave since or at least I hope I haven't.

What part of Washington State is low on Wranglers? There are like 9 in 4 blocks of my house. Where are you?

Up here in Maryland, I have found that some of the guys driving built XJs will wave. Newer ones and stockers, not so much.

Struck out twice today. Took 6 swings and missed them all.

Sorry for the baseball analogy but it is that time of year. Waved at 6 Jeeps but received none back.

Last time I was in Yakima, I'm in Everett, I noticed many Wranglers. But, I am obsessed, to quote my wife! You must focus and do let the Horrid Hazzard (H2) distract you from your mission. Find Wrangler friends, rack up waves!

He had a lift, huge brush guard, and fog lights across the top. He was either a new xj or newer. I'm not good at telling the difference between Cherokees yet.

And also on another note, I got to jeep wave on the 6 mile ride to the gym today. Usually in the winter around here no one waves

I don't get over your way much, but if I do and I see you, you'll get a wave from me.

I wave at 'em all!!! If you are in a Wrangler, you will get a wave from me (4d, 2d, stock, mod., male, female, CJ, YJ, TJ, JK, XYZ, PDQ).

If you see me and I don't wave, give me a honk cuz I either asleep or zoned out!!!

I live in PG county, I've had the Jeep a little over a year and it hasn't been off road yet . I keep waiting for at least a little snow to have some fun but this winter is soooooooo lame. By the time I go off road, my tires will be bald. When I lived in PA "Pittsburgh" there was a lot more places to go. I had a 1980 toy pick up then anyway. I will probably never go extreme wheeling since mine is a daily commuter, but it'll never hurt to be able to go somewhere! Guess I'll keep sitting in my driveway pretending Varoom,Varoom

Experiences with the "Jeep wave"

Ok my JK is the 2nd jeep I've owned, first was a beat up YJ in high school. That was in Massachusetts, and the always jeeps waved. right now I'm stationed in the Miami Florida area. It seems to me that only people wave back if I'm Palm Beach county and north of it. So far by giving a quick wave, I've been flipped off, a women thought I was hitting on her, been told to F-off, and looked at like i have horns growing out my head. My wife doesn't wave to any jeeps now since the last guy at a traffic light must have had his head in the gutter because a jeep wave doesn't mean a woman wants to "fool around". I have 2.5 months till my family and I move to the Yorktown Virginia area for my next station. Needless to say, we can't wait. Anybody else ever have such crazy s@!$ happen to them with a simple wave?

I have lived all over the country and owned 3 jeeps. 2 mod and one stock. If I see a jeep I give the one finger up off the steering wheel. I figure if they have a stock jeep they might just love the way it looks that way so I wave. I don't want to be some elitist. But I did notice when I was in my modified jeeps that people in stock jeeps would sometimes avoid eye contact and miss my wave. Now I notice that more and more 4 door jeeps are waving more often. But I love the confused look on 4 door soccer mom drivers.

I also drive an Audi and sometimes I catch myself waving to jeeps. Afterwards there is about a 3 second window of confusion until most of the jeepers say ef it and wave back

I feel like such a dork waving in my stock Jeep. I guess because sometimes the lifted and modified Jeep owners don't always wave back. Everyone has to start somewhere.
