Seems PA is very Jeep friendly and I have seen more Jeeps in PA then I have in any other state that I have lived in or driven through. Lots of new JKs too!
I've noticed the same thing when I'm in PA to visit my sister. I actually enjoy getting stuck in traffic in the summer because there is always at least 1 fellow Jeeper right in there with me! I get waves from the opposite side of the highway!!!

Driving back from church the other night, the police were directing traffic and we were at the head of the line of stopped cars. My daughter noticed that one of the officers was looking over his shoulder at us pretty much constantly--glance at us, look back at what he was doing, repeat.
When they waved us through, the cop gave us a little furtive wave as we drove by.
I guess I know what he drives when he's not in his cruiser.

In the Marietta (North Atlanta area) we supposedly have the #1 Jeep Wrangler dealership in the country Ed Volyles Jeep. I don't think they are selling the culture anymore.
Test Drives no wave, as many Jeeps as I see around here I'd say around half way...almost zero JK's wave.

I'm a waver.....

I'm new to the jeep community. I've always wanted one and finally got one a little over a month ago. Even before I got mine, I knew about the "wave". On the way home from the dealership, several waves. Now, I initiate the wave and get about half wave backs. I agree that JK owners are usually the ones that don't wave back. I'm a JK owner and I WILL wave back.

In the 80's I had a CJ and the wave was pretty standard, not too many yuppie jeepers back then but it was common to see the pointing finger raised first followed by the middle finger while the hand remained on the wheel, if the doors were off then the same wave out the side.

I have had my top off since Friday and I noticed the waves have changed (more enthusiastic)!!!

By the way, I drive a 2D JK and I am a 41 year old female. I give and get waves from all different people.

Today, got a peace out the door from a sweet TJ!!!!!!!

It seems to me that people tend to wave more often and with more gusto when the weather is good.

Yesterday was pretty cool for me, wave-wise. I was on the road for the first time with my new wheels and tires and not only did I get waves from every Wrangler that I went past, all but one of them waved first (even the JKUs).

I get waves from mostly the cjs, yjs, and tjs but rarely the JKs(unless they are modified) but it's mainly older folks where I live and they drive most of the JKs the younger crowd always wave and I never get waves in my moms JKU even when I wave.

People don't wave much out here in Orange County CA. I wave at every single Wrangler on the road; and any 4x4 with a hot lady driving it. I miss living in west Texas; everyone always waves.

I've been impressed so far with wavers in OC. Today I was waiting in a left turn pocket and a JK came behind me and beeped his horn so we could exchange waves.

New JKU owner and I try to wave at all the Jeeps I see. Sometimes I just cant depending on traffic and what not.

Whats the wave protocol for passing another jeep or one that is passing you?

Just looking forward to some sunshine hear to enjoy no top. Last four days have been nothing but rain, rain, rain.

I drive 8 minutes to work every day. And I pass the same three jeeps, 2 of them we wave everyday, the third one I just gave up.

I drive a TJ now, and looking at a new JK, (head gasket), and worried that no one will wave to me anymore. Very few JK's wave back.

Why don't Rubi owners wave?

I notice about 75% of sport owners wave and about 15% of Rubi owners.

Is it the wrangler that causes them to feel more special or is it their income level, which led to the rubi, that also makes them feel more special?

Interesting topic.

I find out here on Long Island it's everyone that doesn't have a lifted jk. People with tj or yj wave. It's usually some busniess guy or a soccer mom that doesn't driving a 4 door
