"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president." http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/data...re_cowbell.gif
When the first one died I was backing my boat into the garage. Everything was fine, turned off the engine, went back to restart it, nothing....all my guages were bouncing all over the place. I thought WTF, opened the hood, everything looked ok. Zero Warning Sign before Failure.
Ran them for years. They're a good battery. There are better batteries but, there is always going to be something better.
Red top is great for starting power.
If you run alot of aftermarket accessories you'ld be better with the Yellow top.
Also if you run a winch. the yellow top does better when using the winch.
Optima suggest using the red top for winching needs but I've had much better results with the yellow top.
No I'm not saying the yellow is better to get anyone to use it instead of the red top. I run a red top in mine. No complaints.
I have had a Red Top in my Chevy Trk.. for 7 +Yrs....... give or take a month........NO LIE now for me it has become a test .....just to see how long it will last
have never had a problem,
I also have a Yellow Top in my Jeep ...winch, light's, Stero, Ipod,
On Board Air, GPS, CB, 2m/440 radio, spot light
and I had a Blue Top in my duck boat ....sold boat
but none of the Batt. have ever given me a problem
Okay guys, you guys should be sales people for Optima.
In a nuttshell, how are Optimas better than 'conventional' batteries? I know that they are more expensive than my Pep Boys special but how are they really better?
Out here in the desert batteries are good for about 18 months max. I've been running my red top for about 4 years now and I bought it used. Yes I do winch off of it, and yes my next one will probably be a Yellow Top, but I love my Optima. It's gone dead a couple times and with a jump it's back in the game and ready to rock.

I have them in all 4 jeeps, just had to replace the one in my 98XJ two weeks ago, that one had been run to dead too many times I guess, it was about 5 and 8 months old. It got replaced with another red top, advanced had them on sale for $99....
