Out of commission

Just wondering if I'm the only one that has ever been stranded under a jeep while working on them. I was replacing a pinion seal and bearing on my front diff today and while pre-loading the pinion bearing My back popped and locked up. Was a bit embarrassing when the neighbor came out 15 minutes later and saw me writhing in pain. The jeep gods got back at me for cussing the jeep

My back's gone out leaning into the engine compartment of my old Mustang (changing plugs), but the Jeeps higher up, haven't had that problem yet.

I bent over to pick something up from the floor and couldn't stand up again. I don't remember what the drugs were but, boy, I was really happy!

Not drooling, trying one night without the pain meds. I have never stayed to long on pain killers. I don't think that will last long I am staring at the bottle right now. Found out after work today I tore my rotator cup also. Talk about being rough when working on vehicle.

You need to take it easy, Odhinn. I understand not wanting to be on the meds for too long, but if you're in pain, you should take them.

Odhinn, sorry about your back, maybe you should try some muscle relaxers, instead of pain meds. Just a thought, as it is probably muscle related.

Yep blu, definately a good suggestion, I am taking advil atm and it is helping.

tiny I know I should take it easy but I am stubborn, plus I want my senses about me. Besides Pain is all in the mind and can be controlled. At least the stuff that doesn't put a person to their knees. I don't want to jinx it but my nephew was recommended for the Airforce academy and I want to be coherent if he is accepted there.

There is a really cool popping noise coming from my shoulder though.

Hey Odhinn man, I felt the same way. Pushed and pushed. Ignored everything. Now I have a permanent (though mild) headache that the doctors can't help me with and a loss of balance. Take it easy. Stubborn is fun, 'til someone loses and eye.

Thanks tiny, I appreciate the concern, I am taking it easy just without the meds. Even though I am in my 30's I have outlived my constant drive days. Since my last knee surgery I have had a steady pain from the left knee. I have had that for 10 years now and gotten use to it. I will say this much, unless I am in a wheel chair or loose the loss of a body part, I will not go under the knife again.

Don't say thirties like it's old!!!

lol definitely not old, just feels old when in an abused body

A person never really knows how much they use their knees until they are unusable, But i think the head is just as important. Mine crack so loud in the Am I made the dogs run away one morning, lol

I will always be able to wheel, thats the great part.

My shoulder has made that popping sound for almost ten years now. I have never had it looked at, it doesn't hurt, just makes noise. I think mine is from playing too much pool. Take it easy and get healed up so you can go and do it all over.
