P0121 – Throttle Position Sensor 1 Performance 99 Jeep Wrangler

Hey Anyone who can help,
Had check engine come on while driving on highway, shortly afterward felt a lurch while climbing hill in 5th gear. Event has been associated with an odd smell. Got the diagnostic code
P0121 - Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem. I own a 99 Jeep Wrangler Sport, 4.0 L manual. Thanks for any info.

First make sure there is a good connection at the throttle position sensor (no mud/dirt/water). Clean the connection and plug the sensor back in. If it continues it is most likely the sensor itself that needs replaced. They aren't very expensive. Maybe 30 bucks or so. Very easy to change yourself.
