painted fender flares

a few months ago we were talking about painting fender flares with Krylon Fusion. Some of you did. I was wondering if anyone had an update on how the painted flares are holding up??

the three i did befor eth accident are looking great. The one my dad did without my supervision is cracked. However it was fisheyed to begtin with which leads me to believe he didnt prep it good and he put it on way to think. Prep properly, use very thin coats multiple times. I did three coats using one can on all six pieces if that tells you how thin a coat to put on each time.

Mine look great, no cracks, peeling or fading. Trick is to PREP, and several light coats.

I painted the flares, license plate holder, rear bumper jugs, and front JEEP piece. All of them look great except the rear flare that I spilled gas on three days after painting it. I spilled gas on it again a couple months later and it did no more damage.

I think everyone is right, good prep and several light coats. Also don't spill gas on them.

Mine are two years into it and I have lost just a bit around the edges to the high pressure wand at the car wash. The PO did mine so I don't know how well he prepped, but they still look pretty good after 2 years.
