Painting Diff Covers

Want to paint my Diff covers when I do my fluid changes next time.
What's the best way to Prep them when I do this ?

Clean thoroughly with degreaser, sand off all rust and old paint,spray on primer let dry scuff sand with scotchbrite pad and spray with your favorite color. I painted mine with Rustoleum Hammered Silver paint and they look awsome.
