Painting Rollbar Padding

has anyone tried painting their rollbar padding? my sahara has tan rollbar padding, but i would really like black. i've never used fabric paint before, but have been told that it works very well. i would like to just buy a new set, but money wont allow it right now.

i have painted mine with the duplicolor fabric spray paint that i picked up at Oreilly's and it worked pretty well. I just popped all the covers off and laid them out and sprayed a few coats on them. Mine were black (faded to purple) when i repainted them and two coats did it. might take a few more to turn yours from tan to black but ought to work. This was about 3 months ago and the top parts of mine are starting to fade again but i live in San Diego and haven't had the top or doors on since i painted them. If you have your top on even remotely regularly i'd expect it to hold up better. Good luck!

You can pick up a used set on ebay fairly inexpensive or get some black roll bar padding from a wrangler at the junk yard. I wouldnt paint it, I doubt you will be happy with the results.
