Jeez, came looking for grab handle info and I feel like I've stumbled into a yarn-bombing thread!

Thanks. It's unique, that's why I like it. Noticed a small loss in signal when it rains. But only noticeable on the already weakest channels

It's called the Solomon Sword wrap. Here's the YouTube video

I think I ended up using 15 ft of each color. To be honest it took a while and it was a pain in the butt since you're trying to make each knot line up to the last one. It looks cool though.

Thanks for the info. Now I need to figure out what color to use....

BTW: How much paracord did it take?

I used about 15 of gutted paracord. I left the bottom 6 inches unwrapped so it wouldn't rub the Jeep

I just made these. (2) 50ft para cord (4) clamps made both sides.
I also made 2 just like the center section with clips on both end
for the headrests for rear passenger grab handles it did take 1 more
50ft para cord. 50ft 2.77each clips .96 each. (15.00 dollars for all 4)
If you have a JK you need to use 40 inches instead of 35 inches to get around the roll bars.

The local civilian surplus store sells rated cord, but any supply room in a military unit, and even the "tactical outfitter" store in the PX, has the cheap kind.

Outside of Ft Bragg, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the military using "military spec" paracord. Kinda ironic
I beg to differ. If his brother was in the Marine Corps and had access to that much paracord he probably worked in a paraloft. My old Force Recon unit had our own paraloft and they repaired and packed our own shutes. We didnt buy cheap stuff because our lives depended on it. So to say no military units outside of an army base had good stuff is a false statement. Just sayin'

I just made a single strap piece like the one in the center of the front ones.
I used a beeny clip on each end and attached them to the headrest posts.

Just made these, Jeep is silver so the color combo looks good. No pics of them installed though.

Sorry to ask, but I've been all over forums and videos. I'm new to this paracord braiding thing, even though I learned knots in the Marines and Fire Academy. I can't figure out how to make mine bulkier like you have in your picture. I tried several ways for the first time last night using the Round Crown Sinnet. It looks fantastic, but it's skinny as hell. Any advice on how to get them to come out like yours? Thanks for any info!

This may or may not answer your question. But when I wanted to make mine thicker I put more cord in the middle. For like a bracelet two cores is good, but for my handles I used 9 and also did a king cobra weave. Just a helpful suggestion.

The ones he's asking about are actually tied around the plastic mopar handles if I read it right.

Thanks! Sorry I didn't understand when I first read it. Looks like I'll be going to the Jeep parts department on Monday to get the Mopar handles. Thanks again guys.

I was proud of the handles I made, but now after reading this thread I'm almost embarrassed of them. In my defense, they were my 2nd attempt at braiding paracord. My first attempt being stealing my daughters paracord activity kit and learning by making a bracelet.

For more stiffness inside the grab handles a section of 1/4 or 3/8 ID fuel line works well. A cobra braid is easy around it.

FYI

be careful on the monkey fist if you use a steel ball bearing on them and it gets to big even as a key chain they can give you a hard time for it being a weapon.
found this out the hard way. had a 3/4" herring in mine and the cop put a magnate to it and said either destroy it or get a ticket for carrying a weapon, i didn't let him finish. cut it apart.

however he did say if you use a ping pong ball in it they won't say anything because its just the knot and not a weapon , has something to do with the weight if it were to be swung at someone or thrown.
