its a 3 strand diamond knot to a 6 strand crown sinnet green and tan paracord. it works great if u just adjust the length to whatever suits your needs.

I made the grab handles for my YJ, then my dad saw them and wants me to make the whole set for his TJ... grab handles, door straps, inside door handles, and rear seat belt holders. I figured out how to make everything else work, I'm just not sure about how to make the rear seat belt holders work since mine doesn't have rear shoulder belts

My rear roll bar is exposed metal, so the metal clip would scratch the paint. I'm really not sure whether or not the roll cage in a TJ is covered or still the exposed metal...

Thanks for the inspiration!

I used some plastic bracelet clips, I purchased them at the army surplus store along with the paracord. you can probably get them in walmart or a craft store in the crafts section near their bracelet making stuff too.

Generaly the rear rollbars in a TJ are padded, my rig didnt have those covers when I bought it, but honestly I like it better than the ugly purple color that they become anyways lol.

Mine had really old ill-fitting pads on when I bought it, but I pulled them off very shortly thereafter. I love mine being bright shiny red to match the body

Thanks! I don't know why I didn't think bracelet clip...

Here's mine. I built them about a month ago, and they work really well. My dad saw them and wants me to make a pair for him, as well as a new set of door handles. Fortunately his TJ is red as well, so I don't have to buy any more paracord.

I'm going to adapt the design a bit for my boyfriend to use on his sail boat, should be fun to figure out how to make it work!

What size cord are you guys using?
I found 50' of 1/8" (3mm) utility cord at REI for $4.50 that I'm gonna practice with.

I am using 550lb paracord. no idea what it amounts to in actual measurements but $4.50 sounds about right for price. I get 100ft of 550lb paracord for $9 at a local army surplus store.

Okay, mine is 400# so yours is just a little bit better deal and its probably like a 5mm line. I might go back from more they had a couple different colors.
Thanks.

I can snag 200 feet at 10$. Standard colors though: tan, od, black, desert fox. I went with the King Cobra weave for the grip handle in OD/Tan and Cobra weave for the loops. All OD/Tan.

How are you doing that? The cheapest I've ever seen it was $7.99 per hundred and that was online.

The Marine Corps Exchange and Navy Exchange are the best way for me. If you are a service member or know one you can get on the NEX website and order there.

Did you have to make the part longer that wraps the bar? Mine wouldn't fit due to the plastice piece that is under the bar cover.. So I'll have to make some that are longer.. I added a small length of paracord to one for the short term use..

I just purchased my yellow and black 550 para cord at AC Moore crafts. A little pricy at $5.99 for 50 feet.

They look cool, especially with the two colored shackles.
