Finished up my second handle shortly after that. It took a total of 3 hours to do 2 grab handles and a cost of about $10/each to make (cost of clips and paracord). I love having an easy mod that I made on my Jeep...and something that nobody else has...well at least around me

Once my next shipment of paracord arrives, it's on to the set for the back seat.

That was really an interesting stuff. I had seen many of my neighbour using them for their cars and other exterior decorations. Can any of the experienced persons please share some views about the uses of paracods in interior decorations and about the best models available with these with best colour combinations? Thanks in advance.

for the grab handles do the wrap around an old jump rope handle either wood or plastic, or I prefer an old ski handle cut to length since its strong and waterproof..no pics right now but just an idea.

How did you do the handle and shift knob? Just the cobra weave with it in the center?? Looks awesome!

Dropped it in 4th and weaved from the bottom up. It wont be straight at first but it slides around to even up. Melted the ends.

Yesir, nice and easy. its a pain to get the lines straight but knowing that its a pain to start with gives you the upper hand in dealing with it.

Im sure this has been covered but too many posts to search through. How do you know how much cord you need? Im looking to do 2 grab handles, 2 door limiters and maybe 2 braceletes. Im guestimating 50 ft would be plenty? Also whats the best place to order online?

Got a quote of $70 for all this, so I figured I'll just do it myself and learn/save $$!

Thanks guys!

I had asked DaCrazyRN this question in PMs because she did a bunch of them... this is what she told me:

Quote:
I bought 100 ft of each color and still have quite a bit left over. Made the 4 roll bar ones, 6 other ones and some key fobs, too.
So, 500ft might be a bit much unless you're doing it all in one color... and even then, it sounds excessive.

Well 400ft in all. Im unsure on color combo. 100ft of 4 colors...

Do you think 50ft of two colors will atleast do two grab handles? Cant find a direct answer to how much ft's are used for handles. I know 9ft will make a bracelet

Honestly, it's hard to answer that question. It's going to depend on the type of braid you do, as well as how loose or tight you do it. It might also depend on how long you want the grab handles to be. It's going to depend on whether you just do strands for the roll bar tie around or do the braiding up through that as well.

9ft for a bracelet seems an awful lot though. I can't imagine wrapping something almost double my height into something to wear around my wrist. I must be misunderstanding!

This is what LilYeller says he used for each of his grab handles. This is on the front page of this thread.

For a jk front handle with king cobra wraps and grab with a tight wrap 11" or so. Is right about 85 ft. I do the grab handle about 8 inches looking at 11 feet for the core weave and 15 for the over weave. Hope this helps.
