Ski handles are a bit large in my estimation, at least the ones I've used. I like where your going with this though. Perhaps Michaels / Hobby Lobby sells something of use? Styrofoam or something cylindrical.

Anyone else have ideas other than the one gentleman I saw on this thread whom used bolts. Ideally I would have these wrapped around the Kayak Handles but that would almost mean your buying twice the handles for half the spots.

I had gone through the post. The photosection produced here was awesome. Recently, I came across with one of my friends that some new models of these introduced in market last month But I had not purchased yet. Now, I was planning to have some of them with different colour combinations. Could any one please produce some attachment links regarding my request? Thanks in advance.

I speak typo fluently but I have no idea what you are trying to say. are you refering to the links in your signature about the wholesale paracord? if so then here ya go Wholesale 550 Paracord, Bulk Supplier and Dealer Program good luck with your, umm... investment? Looks like fair prices anyways.

Ya I had a tough time reading that this morning
so i finally made mine, black and desert camo

the original measurement weren't long enough for me with the pads on the rollbars. I had to make some adjustments halfway through one, it was a pain but they look pretty sharp

Yea sorry about the measurements. its seems to be a hit or miss. my rollbar near my head has a cover but no padding on it. not sure if thats the way they came from factory or if thats aftermarket.

Thanks for this thread lil yeller! Did a bracelet for practice and then my first oh shiste handle. I will probably not put that one in because of some things I fig'ed out along the way. One being where I place the melted attachment of the main rope. Instead of having it out of the weave in the loop for the shackles I will make sure it's under the weave.

Gah, 1 more day until my Paracord arrives and I have the whole house wrapped up in 550 cord.

Dog leash = Paracord
Shower Curtain rings = Paracord
Never getting up to open the door for visitors again = Paracord pull string

Oh yeah, and maybe i'll make a few grab handles for my jeep.

I got me some paracord today from hobby lobby and I'm going to make me some door stops.

The only thing holding me back? trying to melt to ends together. I live in an all electric apartment and can't find a single lighter around here lol. I even tried my electric cooktop. Epic fail.. I guess I'll have to take a trip to the store tomorrow and get a zippo lighter.

I plan on making mine a little shorter than the stock straps that are on there. How much did yours stretch? Maybe I can make them short enough that once its fully stretched it will stop close to where the stock strap stop it.

I made mine with 6 strands, which makes 4 loops on each end, the a tight cobra weave over it. They do not stretch.

I just finished one of mine and put it on. It works great. I made 3 loops with the core (6 strands) and then weaved over it. It's also about 3/4" shorter than the stock strap. I probably should have made the weave part a little longer but you live and learn.

Lilyeller, hope you don't mind my asking, but ...
Anybody done anything with type I survival cord? Only 100lb test, but also only 1/16" - basically "paracord" with only 1 inner strand. I really like it for lanyards, fobs, and the like. I also keep a couple 2' cobra weave cords to use with a bungee on my cargo rack - much easier than a bunch of bungees or ratchett straps.

Attachment 217887

Just curious if anybody had any other ideas for it, or had used it in other ways.

not at all. I'm curious also. Like seeing what other people are doing with their cord. I recently made a winch line puller from paracord, will post up a pic soon.

Attempting to make the jeep roll bar handles from original post on this thread for LilYeller...already ran into a snag...if I start making cobra stitch with shackle closed will I not have to open it later to attach it to my roll bar?....and won't this be next to impossible to do to get loops from paracord back through shackle closure?...

Here are some things I have made from paracord...dog leash using king cobra knot...fender knot key chain small one pictured but usually make them much bigger...monkey fists with cobra knot wraps key chain and lanyards using steel ball bearing or golf ball...

This did NOT work.... the bolts came out the side, always caught and pulled my girlfriends hair as she got in and out, and it just started looking bad. Not to mention the colors didn't match my Jeep. Getting ready to try another version with a bolt with the right colors. I'll post if its successfull.

Here is how they started sticking out.

I'll post how I fixed them and if it worked here in a bit. Looking for the solid part to put my hand around, and not have it bunch my knuckles up.

One thing I didn't like about these grab handles is that they bent in your hand. I wanted something solid to grab. I grabbed some bolts I found around the house, ground them down and put them inside the grab handle, so they have a solid 5 inches in them that doesn't bend! Here is how mine came out. My jeep is red, but I'm impatient, and all I could find was green yellow and black 550 cord, so I went with yellow and black.

You can kind of see the bolt in there.

How they look from the other side.

Thanks for this thread btw. I kept getting complains about no handle to get into the Jeep, so finally decided to get some grab handles and found this thread. Now I wanted to make them so to match the Dozer. However, I prefer to bolt it to the sound bar, like the grab handle from Rugged Ride or Surprise Straps, rather than wrap around the roll bar. Anyone know where I can find straps with rings at both end and how long I should use?

Success! We made 4 tonight, and they held up great and look great. These are paracord / 550 cord grab handles, that are stiff in the center where you grab. I tried just putting big bolts in their last time, as in above post, it was a big failure. I had a new idea this time.

I wen't and got very small bolts and cut the heads off, one for each grab handle.

I then inserted the bolts INSIDE some 550 cord, which I then made into a loop, the same size as the rest of my loop. I tried to make the bolt as centered as possible in the loop.

I just put it with the loop of 3 in the center, and formed my cobra weave around it.

Here is the finished result! Looks good and is definitely sturdy enough. I love that it doesn't crush my knuckles as I get in and out.

I built the grab handles just like above, except I used knots and melted them, I didn't like the candle technique, didn't feel secure to me, and after a month, some of the places where I melted it down were coming off. Knots this time! not that visible once on the vehicle
