Pavement queen

I ran into a guy this evening at Lowes who had a late model JK with nearly every available aftermarket option. Lift kit, 35's, soft top safety net, auxilary air tank, shovel, etc.... you get the point. It was nicely done and looked good.

I struck up a conversation with the guy, shooting the breeze, and it came out of my mouth before I could stop it "...that looks too pretty to take off road..." and he countered with "...it's only been off-road once in South Carolina where we drove it to the beach." I was speechless..... comparing his $60k pavement queen to my beat to hell off-road every chance I get Jeep.....

To add insult to injury, it was yellow....

He has made the perfect Jeep for someone looking for thier next purchase that does not want to do the work themselves.

About only time I've use four wheel drive is at the beach or at the boat ramp.
I do drive through the woods a lot though.
When I think off road I think rock crawlin' or muddin and I'm just not into that.
To each their own I guess.

to each his own. when i see a jeep that has been lowered instead of lifted, or cromed fenders and all the shiny stuff. a tear comes to my eye a jeep waste land. but if that is his thing i guess it's not my place to judge.

like my daughter-in-law said a week after she bought her 05 "this is not good, the green doesn't show the mud"

No way I would take a brand new jeep through the woods and screw it all up either. That's why I run older stuff and its trail only.

The way I see it, it's going to cost just as much to repair trail damage on an 08JK as it is on an 11JK, and stuff that breaks is another way of saying stuff that needs upgrading, IMHO..

lol when I say old, I mean old...not 3 years old either

For the money in repairs its gonna cost you to wheel your jk hard and put it back together good enough to resale it, you could have build a very trail compatible YJ or TJ and beat the snot out of it.

.....No shame in my decisions. I bought the Jeep to have fun, but I also refuse to trash it. No "muddin" or "rock crawlin" here.....

Garage Queen
Pavement Princess
Mall Crawler
whatever.....

I make the payments.

ps..... Dirt shows up well on a black Jeep! Unfortunately, it's not on my Jeep long enough to be seen. Hahaha

While I'm not into muddin' or crawlin' one I like about my Jeep is that it's always dirty and has scratches all over it. It's the first vehicle that I've ever had that it does not bother me.

never bothered me when we took my 02 f350 diesel 4x4. threw the woods and down in the mud the first week i had it, and loved every minute of it. we just put a heavy coat of good wax on it so the branches didn't to to much scratching.

maybe true, but then my dog won't fit in a YJ or TJ. For me it was either an XJ or JKU.. And I don't really plan on reselling it ever anyways, I tend to drive vehicles until they are dead..

everyone has to do thier own thing, if they are happy thats all that matters after all they are making the payments not us.. ill take my rubi any were that i can as long as it dont get scratched by branches, or dents in it. and i do keep it sparkling clean when im not offroading it. you can still have alot of fun and go awsome places with the jeep without beating the crap out of it.

LOL...I have a neighbor that just spent 15k on every mod you can dream of for his 2010 Unlimited, yet never takes it off the pavement. I think he was upset because I was not impressed. People in CA are strange. They spend so much to impress people they don't know, and don't really care about anyway.
