Peeling Decals off new jeep?

Hi everyone, I'm very close to purchasing a new wrangler and it will be my first. I want the rescue green color so I'm looking to purchase the 2010 unlimited mountain edition. I'm not a big fan of the decals especially the black hood one, it looks awful. I'm concerned about getting the decals off and if it will affect the paint. Any suggestions? Thanks, Eric

If your ordering it...order it without the stickers...if it is at the dealer....tell them they have to remove the stickers before you purchase it. They'll do it.

As far as affecting the paint...Nope...it's a 2010 , it hasn't had enough time to fade the paint. When the sticker get removed just give it a good buff and wax and you'll be good to go.

I thought that they dropped the rescue green color a couple of years ago?

and if you end up having to take the decal off yourself, there is a similar discussion located here: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/dec...tml#post596256

I was always under the assumption that the factory decals were put on before the paint fully hardened, making it almost impossible to remove them without leaving the outlines in the clearcoat.

That would not be a good assumption They peel off just fine.... If you happen to have any residual outline in the clear (Never heard of that happening) they would buff out easily.

Charger guys are always dinkin' with their decals.......

They also make a rubber wheel for a drill to remove decals. You just have to be careful with them and take your time. I know a lot of body shops use them, and I've used them too. You just have to take your time and don't press to hard with it.

Thank you for all the posts. It seems, if the jeep site is correct, the rescue green will be available on the unlimited sport as well as the mountain edition. I went to two different jeep dealers locally and neither one had a clue about the mountain edition. Was almost embarrassing. They had no clue that it was coming out and then after running around talking to each other they said they don't know when it will be available and have no additional information from Jeep. So, waiting, I guess for now, is my only choice.
