Pentastar Engine

Okay guys I got a question about the Pentastar engine in my 2012 jeep wrangler I've heard there's replacement cylinder heads you can get from the dealer because of there being problems with the original ones has anyone have some knowledge on this?

I'm on another forum and there is a couple that have had to have them replaced. From what I've read most are the early 2012's with the issue and I think it was from metal shaving being left in the motor.

Was reading a thread from this forum that explained the original heads had a part#ending with AA.The replacement head has a part#ending in AB.There has been problems with both and suposedly the third release has a part#ending with AC. I have been reading on this Pentastar problem for many months and on different forums. This last forum here on JWR the person said you can check your -I believe-JULIAN DATE.He said to open your hood, use a good flashlight, place your chin on drivers side fender, look just past the frontside of the brakefluid reservoir and shine light on angle to the area at the back of the head. There are some sensors and crap down there but move your line of sight around a little and you will see three rows of numbers etched in the metal, the top row of numbers is the JULIAN DATE or the date of manufacture. He said if the number was 2042 or greater then your Pentastar had the AC heads and these are suppose to be the good ones.
I looked at mine about 2 weeks ago just after reading that thread and mine were 2452.The first 3 numbers are the day of the year and the last number is the year.So mine were made on the 245th day of 2012.I had waited several months and passed on a 2012 waiting for this problem to be worked out.Ended up with a 2013 and have 4000 miles on it.So far no ticking! Hope this info helps you out.

4.0? Imitation junk.

A real Jeep has a Go Devil engine and is measured in cubic inches.

Nope. The Hurricane F head 134 four banger has it beat by a year.
