lol ok a lil rant i am on but people here in chicago cant drive and dont respect there or others cars. every day all day i watch people just throw there car doors in to others, even when theres space between cars someone will park next to someone on a messed up angle and just go a swinging. Drives me nuts lol but thats why i park all the way on the roof. it has not happend to my jeep yet thank god lol

Haha that stinks....but people in general are horrible nowadays. Just look around you. A funny side: My first client came in to work yesterday and told me she felt comfortable parking next to me because she knew I wouldnt ding her doors.....I had my doors off, lol!

Get a sturdy set of rock rails. Somebody heaves their door into your Jeep, they'll drive home with a nice "V" shape in the sheet metal.

Had that happen to me. Lady swung her doors open and hit my ACE Rails, nice dent in her door, and I just smiled.

Either/or...

Pool or a pond...

Anything that sticks out should work.

Lived there 35 years. I about died the first time I went into Arby's in Kentucky and the cashier smiled and called me sweetie. Up in Chi-town all you get is the stink eye and a terse "whaddya want" like your presence bothers them. Wisconsin girls are a whole lot nicer.

When we moved to Florida and into the apartment we are in now, I thought we had gotten a bonus when the lady in the office told us we got a covered parking spot for one year for free. That's great! Until...

Found out the idiot in the space on the right can't drive for squat. Every time he pulls into his space he either parks right on the line between his space and mine, or within 6 inches of it, maximum. Came out one day to find two new scratches on my passenger door, plus the a$$hat didn't even bother to try to remove the red paint from my car from the edge of his faded-a$$ sky blue Explorer! I went inside, grabbed a pad of sticky notes and proceeded to place them strategically on his door to point out that I knew exactly what happened.

I had that happen to me at my old work this lady would park next to me all the time and hit it every time. I told her to pay up or start parking some were else beside next to me. she denied every hitting me. so she stop for like month and boom she did it one more time. paint was on her door and all. I got so mad i retured the favor and left a nice 7 inch crease down her door. But i did not leave her paint on my car. she never parked next to me and the dents stopped. only if i had a jeep then i would have got the rock guards but i had a stupid 98 dodge avenger.

Some things just beg for a little more forceful statement.

We had to park our new truck in a city lot. First week my hubby came out to find the cop with his door against the truck. Walked up and said "how do you like my new truck?" in a very pissed off way. Cop apologized and shut his door. We told the office and shortly thereafter the cops stopped parking their spare vehicles there.

Next month I park between a car that doesn't run (no dings on that side) and a vintage Mustang. Figured it couldn't get much safer. Came back to find a huge ding with Mustang colored paint. People in Miami have no respect.

I'll put long island up,against Chicago for rudeness any day of the week. People, in general, totally suck around here. There are a few "good eggs" thrown in, but I see attitude 95% of the time. It's crazy....

40 years in Chicago, 18 in New Mexico. In Chicago I always had lifted heavy duty pick up trucks that I used for my garbage company to deliver containers and service my equipment. Never cared much for the dings I'd get, so I always dinged them back, hard. Needless to say I had a pretty rough looking truck after a year or so. One person dinged me while I was sitting in the truck eating lunch. I had an old container in the bed of my truck and I scraped some of the slop out of it and smeared it over the windows, then I greased the underside of all the door handles. I waited and smiled when she returned. She flipped me off and I asked her out, she went ballistic. She had a mouth on her.

I made a point of eating there whenever I was close at lunch time and saw her many times afterwards and sometimes she even parked next to me and I saw she learned her lesson. Each time I blew her a kiss and she always replied with the finger.

Chicago was always fun for me.
