Picked up a 2001 Lifted Wrangler today

It has a 4.0L with 4" Trailmaster lift. Has 35 inch tires and aftermarket bumpers. I plan on adding: 10,000lb winch, spare and 35, gears, cd player and light.

Very Nice

Did you get lucky and find it with the D44 rear?

Just a recommendation.. Don't regear with the D35. Not worth it... Wait till you find a F8.8 or D44 Then do it.. For the way most of use our Jeeps the D35's life span in most cases is limited..

Nice Jeep! Mind what XJ has said and consider downsizing tires or upgrading rear axles... 35" tires and D35's do not play nice for long..... (so I've been told)

I am just now to the point where I can start putting money in my Jeep. I just ordered a set of 35" BFG M/T's for my Jeep. The outside of the front tires on the jeep now are completely bald. The inside of the tires have a good amount of tread left. Will a alignment fix this issue? I just want to make sure before I put $900 worth of tires on the Jeep. I would be sick if my new tires started to wear down like this on the front. I had new wheel bearing put on the Jeep about a month ago. The shop said the Jeep needed an alignment real bad. Thanks for the help.

D35 + 35's = FAIL.. Sorry bud.. Open D35 max u should go is a 33 unless you get a super D35 kit then you can run 35's locked

This very sound advice. Spending $900 on tires is nothing when you snap an axle running 35's.

Is it still an issue if the Jeep is just for road use. I will not be going on trails until next year.

How do I tell if the rear end has been upgraded? I am the 4th or 5th owner of the TJ?

look at the rear end. haha. there is a sticky thread on the TJ section. as for on road, you should be okay but I would upgrade. also, you will probably rub offroad with only 4 inches and 35s, unless you have a BL as well. otherwise its a very nice jeep. what gears do you have now?

Here are updated pics of the Jeep. Gonna order a new Rampage softtop for it. I just checked and it has a D35. I plan on updating that when I get some more free money. I hope I am ok with street driving until then. Guy told me the other day he thinks it has 3.73 gears because of some rubber piece he seen. Not sure what that is.

Many stories I have read of D35's with 35's and a few with 33's blowing up on the street since I got into offroading.. Good Luck
