pissed off

Somebody stole my hardtop last night.
It was sitting right in front of the damn house and the porch light was on, they pulled in, loaded it up and spun the tires leaving but nobody heard anything.

In your own house?! Dude... leave the other Jeep outside tonite, in the same spot, and camp your happy azz in the bushes with a 30-06 at 10 yards...

People sure must have balls to steal from someone else, let alone in your own HOUSE!

Will homeowners insurance cover the Jeep since it was in your home? Sometimes if the cars in the garage its covered etc. Might want to look into it.

sheriff just left, he says he was up and down our street all night and never noticed anything, he going to check the local crack houses but there's not much they can do.
I'll call insurance but I have no idea if they'll cover it, if they do I think I'll just replace it with a soft top.

Bummer. Low-life's who steal make me ! The only consolation is that what goes around, comes around. I hope it won't fit what they stole it to fit. Watch the want ads in your area and maybe you will see them trying to sell it.

Two mistakes, putting it in the front of the house, should be in the rear out of sight. If you are gonna plunk it down out front you need to find a 200# rotty and tell him it's his doghouse....

Aw dang man. Well, if you see anyone with a couple of WF stickers on the side of their hard top, you know it's yours.

Wow, sucks. Hopefully your insurance will cover it. Might be tough though, with it off the jeep when stolen. On the other hand, it is made to be removed so in that case I would think they would cover it. Good luck.

Someone has a lot of balls...or doesn't know how much you guys like guns. You could actually make out pretty good if your insurance covers it. Those things aren't cheap to replace. You can get your soft top and have a few bucks left over.

A thief will always return to the scene of the crime. I say bait him with something else and this time have his ass arrested.

Not sure of Washington's gun laws, but here in PA we can't legally shoot trespassers...yet. I believe they will be changing that shortly. (Hell, if that was the case, I would invite the inlaws over more often)

Sorry dude...

If a crackhead stole it and than sold it,than look out for any suspicious looking Wranglers. ...cause someone had to have put in a request for one.....which could mean you was being watched.

You know, you might be on to something. A couple weeks ago I posted about a white jeep checking out my rig at 3:30 am and then taking off when he noticed me in the yard, since then I got authorization to park inside the fence at work.
That guy came back night before last and said he was just wanting to take a look at my spring over lift since he was thinking of doing one himself.
While we were talking he asked when I worked so he could come back and look again

Didn't really take a lot of balls to steal Skeeter's top. If they were watching the house, they would have known that the kids and I were home alone.

Our house was robbed a couple of years ago, by the people who lived across the street. They don't live there anymore but some of their family lives next door to us, with full view of the top, when Skeeter leaves for work and when I turned out the lights to go to bed. Man, I hate living in town!

Not really....if another "Jeeper" is talking and admiring your rig you take as admiration...not a "criminal" casing the joint.
That's a smart "criminal"...he's got you off guard....before he started talking to you.....mind you...he's already cased out your house, your yard and your habits.

Now it's a matter of when to confront you, into a friendly "Jeep" conversation.

I'm very weary of folks peeping into my Jeep, hands cupped to see inside (windows are tinted),mostly in daylight.Ain't that much admiration in the world and if you like it that much, there's a Jeep dealer down the street, where you could actually sit in one..............that's my thought on it.

touch my Jeep and you'll see a race between me and my 100Lb dog to get ahold of you first. I hope Insurance will take care of you. Get high quotes from the dealer for a dealer hard top and then buy it from besttop

I don't remember if he had a hard top or a soft top.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if he were the thief, the guy that robbed us came over and was talking to me about the burglary the next day, that's what gave him away, some of the things he said and questions he asked made me suspicious.

I'm confused... I kinda get the impression for your last post Skeeter that you figured out who stole it. Or do you just think it might the guy that was checking out your jeep? because I definitely could see it being that guy... well, hopefully your insurance will cover it.

No I don't know who stole it yet. I was saying we caught the guy that burglarized our house a few years ago because he felt the need to try talking to me, he gave himself away.

I don't know who the guy was that stopped to check out my jeep but I have an idea how to find out.

I just talked to em an hour ago, if they cover it we have a $500 deductible. but there's some question as to whether it's covered since it wasn't on the Jeep at the time.
An adjuster is supposed to call me back.

Nope, shoot, shovel and shut up.

I haven't found anything yet, I've just been cruising the neighborhood, I figure it's most likely somebody that lives or works near here, most likely they'll have it hidden and if they have any brains at all they've already repainted it so even if I do find it there won't be any way to prove it's mine, maybe I'll get lucky though.
I don't have $500 for a deductible right now.
