But it's not just her that JK drivers ignore. lol

I do like the black grill idea. I though about doing it, but I have the black armor on my front fenders. If I painted the grill there would be no red left on the front.

But on your JK... spray away. It would look awesome.

I did have a JK driver wave yesterday, I have seen him in the neighborhood before. He has it a bit lifted and has a few mods on it... but I didn't notice any Plasti-Dip. Maybe I should show up at his house with a can or two and introduce myself. lol

Oh... I had mentioned other products.

Duplicolor makes a spray called Bumper Coating.

It's more fitting for when you desire a more permanent application on plastics. I am using it to refresh my side mirrors. It has the finished look of plastic trim but and bonds to plastic more like Fusion does.
I used it on my old Ford Ranger to paint the front bumper and it worked perfectly. never flaked, peeled or scratched.

I don't recommend using it on your rims or grill, but if you need to freshen up your side mirrors, fender flares or some interior plastic trim... give it a try.

Not my picture, but this will give you an idea of how it looks.

Would plasti-dip be a viable solution to semi-permamently paint a body colored hard top? There are two local JKURs with body color tops and black fenders that I would consider except I do not like to the body color top.

Technically, yes. I seen entire cars done with it.

You can even buy it in more of a bulk usage apparently.

How permanent is this stuff? What does it take to take it off and would it ruin the paint on the jeep?

Easy to remove and no harm done to the factory paint. in fact, it will protect the pain as long as it's on.

From what I understand, the whole Plasti dipping thing started when people started doing it in extreme snow areas to protect their expensive wheels during the winter from the salt on the roads. Not sure about that, but that's what I have heard.

What kind of prep do you have to do to the paint before using it on the paint?

Wash with dawn dish soap (degreases well, and strips wax), let dry completely, wipe down with alcohol, done.

I have gotten only two wave backs so far out of hundreds I've waived at! One was a cute brunette in a TJ, the other a dude in a Red JKU. What's up with these DFW Jeep drivers. Mostly I see them texting on their phones in the middle of their Jeep steering wheels or talking on the phone (

Speaking of Plasti Dip...lol

DFW Jeep drivers need to be Plasti-Dipped...kind of like freezing Solo in Carbonite.

I have a friend that wants to Plasti-Dip his girlfriends son's truck while the kid is at work on April Fools day. I mean the whole truck. He figures that AJ will freak out when he comes out and can't find his truck because it is no longer red.

I know this sounds like a lot to do, but this kid did fake a break in on my buddies truck last year. He came out to find broken glass by his driver door, his stuff all pulled out of the glove box and every thing. He was dialing 911 when AJ told him it was fake.

Sweet! I finally got my third wave today! I'm siting in front of my bud's house in my Jeep parked on the street. The garage door next door to my bud's house goes up and out backs the 4 door version of my Jeep! 16 inch Steelies and 29s, black etc. His, I assume girlfriend, comes bobbing out of the house and jumps in the passenger side. They back out of the drive, he looks, waves and smiles...you bet I waved back!

I was seriously thinking he needed to plasti dip his steelies so I could see what they would look like on mine!! LOL
