What do you use to clean your wheels after you dipped them? A rubber cleaner like armor all?

You can use something like vynilex to keep them REALLY black. Not a fan of Armorall for a number of reasons, chief among which, is that they use silicates, which rots rubber. It will keep it black, but when it dries out, it will crack much faster. Granted, it's just plastidip, so you can add another coat, but generally, vynilex is a far superior product, and is also available over the counter.

Yep, that's why I won't use Armor-All either. I was told about that from a guy that worked for Armor-All back when I worked in an auto parts store.

Where's the best place to find vynilex? Autozone/advance auto, walmart, home depot?

I think Walmart and Ace sell it. From what I here it's the same thing as 303 Aerospace Protectant which is also highly recommended.

I know Ace sells 303. My step dad works there and I just asked him to pick me up a bottle a couple of days ago.

303 is also a high quality product, but is harder to come by locally in my experience. Also, they are both not THAT cheap (303 and Vynilex are about $9 a bottle) but Vynilex is available by the gallon on EBAY or Amazon, which will last you a decade, so the value is excellent.

Vynilex is sold at Autozone, Pepboys, and usually, major auto parts stores. Walmart I believe carries it SOMETIMES at SOME locations, but they mostly carry the ArmorAll brand.

For those of you looking for the rugged look, dipyourcar.com now has camo colors.

http://www.dipyourcar.com/shop/artic...%26aid%3D38%26

Would look awesome on a rugged themed Wrangler. I think I might do the tan for next winter, maybe the brown.

My shipment of 4 gallons was delayed thanks to the government. They are making him re-categorize his gallons as "hazardous materials" so until he finishes, my paint is getting delayed. Yet another reason to have the government. I wanted to post a DIY of full car dipping, but now it will have to wait longer. He told me within two weeks, so I'm crossing my fingers.

Wow that's pretty crazy stuff. Hope you get it soon.

It's been amazing weather around here so I went to work. I did it without taking them off. I used the newspaper and blue tape trick.

I like it!! It agree that it seems a little out of place at the moment, but I think if you do the door hinges, and across the hood like in your other pic, its going to look sexy. Its always nice to see something unique. And the best part about plastidip is that if u decide later to get rid of it, no problem, peel it off

I did one of my key holes as a test. Seems to be holding up well so I plan to do all of them.

I also did one of my door handles and it's not working out too well. I couldn't get the spray on the back side of the handle enough so the PD is starting to peel from people opening the door.

So how are people's tires holding up after Plasti-Dipping them. I don't really want to redo them on a monthly/bi-monthly basis is it holding up well?

It depends on the prep that you do on how it will hold up. I used a sand blaster at work and turned the pressure way down to avoid damaging anything and has held up well, well for a couple months now it has. I did my rear bumper, headlight bezels and gas door. I will do my step rails black. I hate chrome, all that is going to be chrome when I'm done is part of my wheels and stainless bolts that hold everything together
