Yeah, my bad Krysta...thought I picked it up from one of your posts, I went through all the pages for research...

Thanks to letterskilled, then

Very nice info here.. Good thread, guess I will add some of this magic in a can to my 2012 JKU. I still am not sure about the rims though, thinking more along the line of powder coating but might try this first seems it comes off if you want it to but hold up pretty well. After all I have a complete set of OEM 17 and 18’s..

I've defiantly thought of it, but I haven't gotten around to getting any plasti-dip yet so ... MY Question is ... about how many can's should I get for wheels, sided steps and grill? And if I have any left over the antenna's getting it!

Krysta is that your plastidipped hood? Looks awesome. I have a 2012 JKUR in black. Was thinking of plastidipping the center flat black like that. Need to get up the nerve to try it. Thanks for the idea.

some say 2 some say 5 i think its all in how many coats you do. I guess you can buy 5 and what you have left over you can take back or look for projects.

Well, I found it hard to spray this stuff on my New 2012 JKU but… Started light figured do the lower half door where they mate with the upper half soft, seems that is a friction spot and it rubs the paint when driving, can’t have that figure this might be good to protect the paint.

Pictures are not that great was dark out and I was in my garage.

I saw a plasti-dipped Lamborghini yesterday. It was dipped from nose to tail, the thing looked like a stealth fighter. So sweet... Unfortunately I didnt have time to get out my phone and snap a pic.

Something tells me that Lamborghini was just flat black. Not plasti-dipped.

Ok, today is the day! A bit nervous but a coworker has plasti dipped the heck out of his old 4Runner and the paint looks good where he has had to peel it up so I am hoping it really is OK if I mess up.

For the Jeep emblem there is enough of an edge that I can overspray it and it'll peel around the letters. What about the door hinges? I think I need to tape right up to them, doesn't seem to be enough gap to allow the plasti dip to just tear around the hinge.

tape up the hinges but remove tape before it dries to much. . or use a razor and as you pull tape cut along line but be careful not to scratch paint

I just finished mine last nite. It took almost 5 cans to do all 5 wheels. That was putting 5 coats on each. Looks awesome! Also had enough left to do the Jeep emblem on the grill.
