2 serious questions... im not artistic and a little nervous to do this myself.. but i really think black rims on my black jeep would be great. how well does plasti dip hold up in weather and for how long how many years or car washes before its ruined? if you dont take the wheeles off and are not an artists. can u go to a tire shop or oil change place or maybe even the car wash and ask them to do it? any ideas how much it would coast? i might go look and ask a few places near me in brooklyn but i also might wait till im ready to do. i think buying rims is better in the long run then plasti dip. and does the black look just like the car black or can it? i want to do this so bad but feel i cant do it. or dont know how.. if i had a full time job i would go to the tire shop and have them do it.

Just spend 6$ or however much for a can and try it on a wheel. That's the thing with plasti-dip, if u don't like it just take it off!

I know this is a Plasti-dip thread, but does anyone recommend bedliner or anything else? I need something that won't tear as easy.

Not jeep related but i tried dipping my smooth otterbox to try and give it some grip. We'll see what it does.

Finally got around to dipping my stock wheels. I used 4 cans for 5 wheels.
I definitely recommend taking the wheel off the car rather than trying to tape off the rotor an caliper. Spraying them flat on the ground prevents drips and makes it easier to get an even coat.

Not really. It had some peal up as i took the tape up. I got annoyed with it today and took it off. I'm going to try again this weekend, just not as big of an area. I'd put myself in the novice dipping class. I'm sure someone with more experience could have got the edges better.

I don't have a garage, and I've never taken a wheel off before. Advice? I do park my car in a basement, maybe I can use an open area temporarily if this is quick enough to do.

No and No (unless you are trying to do a cool pattern or something.) You just need to cover up the brakes but nothing more.

I have had my front grill dipped for one full year. Rocks, salt, sand, rain, bird crap, and it still looks brand new. Never even touched it up.

I can say it lasted the hole winter just fine .. a slight stain of white from the salt but nothing major. Nothing a detail or touch up can't fix

I'll see if I can get pics in from my phone.

Edit...nope. I can't add a pic from my phone to a post that was made on a computer.

Yes, those were CHROME.... But I got such a good deal on them on E-Bay....I could not pass them up. $70 and $71.50 shipped....hit them with the dip....and it is all good. Still have to do my wheels. I tried my to dip my hood emblem, but that did not go so well in the wind.

That is what I had planned all along and it turned out better than I expected....especially after I removed front and rear bumper inserts and the Sahara sticker.

One of these days I'll get around to taking a good photo....

After messing up my first attempt at plastidipping, I got a black mopar one and replaced it. For $10, it was well worth it.

I broke my vow to never use plastidip again, and gave it a shot on my antenna, didnt come out too bad. i did notice some reception drop though.

plastidipped my original jeep logo again once it was off. came out a little better so i decided to throw it on the inside of the tail gate for a nice little surprise

Plasti dipped my wheels over the weekend. I'm a little concerned I didn't put it on thick enough before I put the glossifier on. Oh well.
