It came out really good, we'll see how it lasts though! As cheap and easy as it was I'm not that concerned. Looks better black though!

keeping the cans in hot water before and in between coats helps in cold weather.

how does plastidippign the key holes hold up? How do you prevent any up the plastic from going into/ scratching off into the hole and messing up the lock?

Keyless entry!!! If the keyless entry quits working then I will probably peel the plasti dip off before putting the key in.

I dipped my locks and intend to cut away anything that could get inside of lock, but haven't done it yet. will post pics when I do. basically just cut edge with razor then scrape away the small rectangle that covers where key goes in, with a toothpick.

I tried something new today. I tried searching but couldn't find anything so forgive me if someone already said this.
My 8-9 month old plasti dip wheels are starting to discolor from brake dust and i guess just sun damage. So I sprayed some wheel cleaner on them to clean off brake dust and I got streaks so I grabbed mothers 'back to black' put on a rag applied and ta da! Back to new and no rub off residue on the rag either. Looks almost like new.

Anyone else having any trouble with cleaning brake dust off?

Rhino is permanent, I think the glory of plastidip is the fact that it is removable

What if someone plastidip first, then rhino sprayed over it? Would it be more durable and still be removable? Hmmm, I might try this on my front bumper.

Let me know how that goes, but I would try something like a plate of scrap metal first to test the "temporary" nature of the plastidip

so let me get this right, you can remove the plasti dip from the rims if you want? I want to do my rims, but have only been hesitating as I am afraid if anything happens to them or I don't like it for some reason down the road, I would have to replace the rims. If you are saying it will peel off if need be, I may just do it!

you get a piece starting to come off, then it peels off like rubber. hard part is getting it started.

Just peel it off like a sheet of latex. It's like a giant latex glove.

Depends on how well you put it on....
Hopefully it will all peel off in a few big pieces. However, I could see thinner layers on the inside of the rim having to be rubbed off or with goo-gone or something.

I plasti-dipped my rims a week after getting my Jeep.

My rims after about 10 months I think. Never touched up but washed a couple of times. Dirty now.

Best/easiest way to get this stuff off is a pressure washer. Nothing too crazy, just a good firm psi. Accidently nicked my grill when I was washing and my tires too. Wound up just using it to take off it all four wheels. I'm gonna try touching the grill up since its a pain to tape it all off, but the wheels had been on a while and I figured id just redo em to get em looking fresh again.
