Plastidip won't have any measurable effect on transmission signals (ie antenna.)

Looks great. If you did your prep well and did a nice thick coat, it will last you for quite a while.

Pretty soon the Jeep's without PlastiDipped wheels are going to be the minority.

you know the more I think about it a can of this stuff should be in everyone's emergency kit. Driving through bad weather and this stuff can stop a soft top from leaking! :-)

Thats a seriously good idea. However, I think the rain would stop the product from properly drying, but I haven't tested this.

Did most of you tape off the tires when you took the wheels off? Is the overspray that bad/noticable on the tires?

I sure tried taping up the tires but nothing will stick to them, not duct tape or anything. You'll find any overspray will simply peel right off. Not an issue at all. One thing though..... When you peel it off becareful becuase if can be connected to the paint along the edge of the tire so go slow.

Anyone tried painting with this stuff? Seems the original is non-aerosol. Small polyfoam brush or even roller, what's the viscosity of this stuff and how does it blend when wet? For some of us not in a location to spray.

Im going to go for it. Im going to wait til next weekend though. Its about 40 and cloudy here in NJ. Hopefully next weekend we can have 50s and some sun. That would cut down on the time some I would think.

Make sure the spray cans are at least at room temperature. If it is cold outside the cans will get cold and will sputter when painting caising a blutchy fininsh. You can do what I did, fill a bucket with hot water and put the cans in there, also return the can you are using to the bucket when you are waiting for the initial coats to dry. Shake them well. Good luck.

P.S. The dealer thought I had purchased new wheels and tires. They were impressed with the looks and fininsh.

Ok so as u all know I plastidipped the $#|t out of my YJ. Well I went off roading yesterday for the first time and well... Ya I scratched two of the wheels BUT it was minimal.
I did take it to carwash and that's when more came off... Since i scratched it a bit... Washing it with pressure at carwash didn't help.

Right now I'm Plasti dipping my wipers and the "Jeep" logos on both left/right fenders.

Thats the thing...once you get it started (peeling off the edges, scratches, etc) it comes off pretty easily. If it is "whole" then it is MUCH more resilient.

The red is close to flame red, just matte. My s2000 is new formula red, which is almost the same as Jeep's flame red, and I am going to spray it red sometime in the next month (entire car) for my annual trip to the Dragon. Will post up some pics and videos of the process and results.

Dipmycar.com didn't work but dipyourcar.com did. There's an option to create your own colors as well as metallic.

It's kind of silly, but those two Jeep logos on the fenders are going to take it to a whole new level ;-) How did you finally decide to mask for them?

must have been a prep thing. I see so many here do it with zero issues even when pressure washing it.
