I used mineral sprites. Worked fine. Most noticeable thing I did was soaked dipped lugnuts in a cup, and the dip wiped right off.

I probably missed it, but I'm guessing I can't plasti dip my wheels and then have the tires mounted, right?

Truth, husband's wheels are plasti dipped, got new tires and they completely jacked it up so we had to peel it all off and respray.

Heres the thing. Yes, i am a plasti-dipper and i will stand for it and say IT DOES WORK. Through car washers, power washes, it holds. You have to always know that no matter how many people get on this thread and say "it doesn't hold up".. they are indeed wrong. Why? Because no matter how many people say it doesn't, there are some to say it does. And the ones who say it does hold are the ones who actually apply it right, let it set/cure and follow the standard procedure never have a problem. Do it right and enjoy it!

Most people here know that anyone who had "issues" with their dip did something wrong. I have plastidipped my track wheels and there is nothing a jeep can do (other than scrape it) that is more "violent" on the dip. It works and it works well....as long as it's applied properly on a clean non-waxed well prepped surface.

I like the argent.

Either way, it is a good looking rig!

Did you mask off the tire, or just let it get on the tire then peel the dip off? An earlier post looks like he sprayed and got the dip on the rubber. Wondering if it peels right off the rubber? Thanks

It will peel off the tire. Goo gone and wd40 also pretty much melt it if you need to remove it from anywhere

I sprayed on the tire and just peeled it off. You have to make sure you get a good amount on the tire so it peels off easily. If not, it's a PITA. A buddy of mine tried masking and it peeled all the dip off his edges. Also, be sure to mask your lug nuts before spraying.

Beer caps in the lug nut recesses, upside down. Just lift them out before the dip dries.

I will honestly say that the dipped rims make all the difference. I've loved my Anvil since day 1, but the blacked out rims make it look 100 times more bad as-. I love it when people ask how much I spent on my new rims and I tell them $30!

If the rings were silver, then they look a lot better. But I'd paint em red.

Might be a dumb question but do you have to spray the inside of the wheel? Meaning, is it noticeable if you don't?
