Please, do NOT do what I did.

So, I am going to try and tell you a quick story so that what happened to me this weekend will NEVER happen to you by thinking twice about riding doorless, or without a top with your dog in car.

This weekend there was a hot rod event in Ocean City Maryland. I brought my Jeep down and decided to take a little cruise with my doors off and windows removed with my pooch. I tied him down via his collar (he is growing rapidly so I have not invested in a harness yet) to the back seat so he can enjoy the loud cars and the girls that admire him. I give him just enough space to look out the window, but not enough to be able to hang out. Right before I made the turn, I noticed he was laying down and decided to whip it to make the light. Well, I am not sure what happened, but, the next thing I know, some guy was running out into the street to stop me. He yelled "your dog" so I stopped immediately to find that my dog was in the street. I realized I did not make a smart decision, so no need to bash. Just be careful and really take the time to make sure your dog is effing SECURE! He escaped with a couple of scratches and got up immediately. I took him home, cleaned him up, and we took a nap together as I almost killed him with cuddles. As I said before, I did not make a smart decision, so please, learn from my mistake. I could have killed my best friend.

Wow.....lucky. you must have the 4 door????

I have a 2 dr...so there is the tub to hold them in. Mine goes every where with me, fishing, hunting, wheeling....he loves it. We went wheelin yesterday. He jumps in and out when he wants on the trail. He likes to get out and run next to the jeep and pee on every tree he comes too. And in the forest that is a lot....lolololol

No sir. 2 Door.

There is not that much tub between the seat and start of the window. I honestly do not know how he managed to swing around and get out, but, it happened. Never again will it happen though. I have a vizsla (essentially a copper weimaraner) and when full grown, they LOVE to run. Having him able to run next to the Jeep when I wheel is a goal I am sure we would both love. I have him on a "Field collar" which is essentially a shock collar. This is a great tool when used properly so they will not dart when they see a target and return immediately when called.
