Please help

I have a yj 2.5lit that normally runs great. Today driving home something really fucked up, and I don't know much about jeeps. I lost almost all power (flooring it in 3rd gear going about 25mph tops). I could smell gas really bad and the exhaust sounded way louder then normal. The whole damn car actually sounded different. Shops are closed today and tomorrow so I just wanted to see if I could get some input. Thanks guys

Sounds like you might have either blown and exhaust manifold gasket or the actual manifold it's self. Open your good up follow your exhaust pipe up to the engine and check all around it for gaps or cracks or holes. If nothing is visibllily apparent, start it up and carefully feel around for any air rushing out from the area where the manifold attaches. Careful it will get very hot very fast!!

The O2 sensor tells how much fuel to mix. Any cracks or holes in the exhaust manifolds can cause it to read lean. There are a bunch of other things that will make it run rich. Bad ECM, bad injectors, bad temp sensors, MAP (if it has this, I have a carbed 6) on and on. The best diagnostic tool is an FSM to follow the steps to a solution.
