Please Help! Jeep Newbie...Need advice about parts

Hello,

My name is Tom and I just joined the site to gain some info on modifying a Wrangler. I am new to the jeep world. . I am more in to muscle car mods and have no idea about lift kits etc. On with the questions. .

The jeep is a 2003 Red Wragnler Sport. It is completely stock and looks very girly. I am not trying to dump loads of money in to this jeep but it def needs a makeover. What does everyone suggest as far as a lift kit, wheels and tires. I don't want to put crappy parts on the jeep but like I said i am on a budget. This jeep will rarely see offroad use but I do want it to perform.

My thoughts were obviously black american racing wheels, larger tires (what size?), a lift kit (what kind? how tall?), and any other misc items that would complete the look.

Please give me your input on where I should be looking, where I can find the right parts, and pricing. Thank you

like repainting it? Well, it doesn't have to be confined with how your jeep looks. It's on how it performs.

Maybe A 2 IN BB might be right for you, can't tell you which because I don't know the details on buget or what your trying to do with it. I've got 2.5in lift from RC and it's alright not great though, with 32's. It's a nice setup on the cheap. I love the black wheels too!

what is your budget? that will help us in giving you some choices to fit that budget. some people's budget is $200 others is $2000. also are you planning on doing the work yourself or taking it some place to do it?

I would say if you added a 2" spacer lift, which are just rubber spacers above the coils and some 31x10.50 tires your jeep will look better vs the stock look.

The cost for a spacer lift or BB as we cal it on here can range. from just the spacers for about 100 bucks or if you can afford it add some new shock at the same time for another 100 or so.. tire prices will vary a lot of course. Try criags list for used tire deals.
