Powder coat paint vs spray paint

Hi jeepers.
Recently ordered
Cobearu Baja ss seats and Gforce 5 point harnesses
but still need to get my harness bar.

I'm looking at the rock hard due to fantastic reviews and easy assembly but it comes bare metal. I emailed the company and they said they'd add a powder coat for 40$, is it worth it or should I just do it myself with a primer and some black spray paint, being an amateur spray painter to say the least. Will it hold up?
Should I consider just plasti dipping it? What do you guys suggest thanks!

Powder coating isnt all that people make it out to be. Any sharp edges, rough welds, holes, etc make the finish separate and start to peel right away.

For jeep stuff, I just go with spray paint.
The high temp engine paints can be baked to produce a tougher finish that is scratch and chemical resistant.

I love my Rock Hard cage. I powder coated mine at a local shop for a lot less than $40.

If you are installing harness belts you will want to drill and tap the mounting brackets before you powder coat. Then just run the tap to clean the threads.

Find a local shop. They'll do it for less, a lot less if you aren't picky on color or time.

I waited for our shop to run black for a Caterpillar job. They just tossed my parts in. $25 for the entire cage.

Thanks guys, I ordered it and figured I will just give it a spray with some leftover raptor line from my tub and not pay the 40$.
I'm glad to hear from another jeeper that it's a good buy! I almost went supper off brand for one but since I will be attaching my g-force harnesses to it id figure I wouldn't be cheap.
