power issues, gas smell, loud noise. exhaust replacment?

Hey all, how the heck are ya on this fine gloomy monday morning? My jeep yj 1995 2.5L seems to have some serious lag...(i know its a 2.5 and im coming down from a 4.2L/6cyl.) But it also seems to be making a loud obnoxious noise from directly under the gear box... and a small gas odour if my windows are down. I had a hole section of my tailpipe behind the muffler replaced because I had a noticeable hole in it left by the former welded clamp, and this has helped the odour...and power a bit... but now it seems it makes more noise (
Unhealthy noise, struggling). I think its possible i had multiple issues with my entire exhaust system... perhaps also a crack or hole near the cat... and now that the rear holes had been fixed...there is more pressure exiting the hole at or around the cat area... make sense? My question is... where abouts to get the cheapest replacement muffler most identical to the original? Chrysler?? I should also note that there seems to be a little squeeling sometimes, especially present at start up. I am going to buy some belt lube and see if that helps... it hasnt been done in a while. But please get back to me on whether or not my explanation is a probability and how and where to get a replacement oem exhaust system... or at least from downpipe on at the cheapest rate with most reliability. Throw a dog a fricken bone here! Haha. Thanks. Emissions comin up and i dont want to fail, so any added info on advice for that would be much appreciated. Add me as a frirnd. I need your help jeepers!

also an add on to the mechanical troubles list...

at start up it seems to start, veryyyy rough sometimes like it will shut off unless i give her gas.... this morning, it didn't start at all - on second crank i gave it gas and it started. I am going to assume it's a fuel pump issue (please no jokes lol)... just new to the YJ world... i have a retired 06 TJ sport, and retired 03 Sahara.... problems are much easier to distinguish i found on those models... perhaps because they're more state of the art. Anyhow, just really want to find out if there were any other parts on a YJ that could cause this start up trouble? should i just go ahead and replace the fuel pump?
