Price Tag?

I recently got a quote from a local shop for re-gearing my wrangler. The total was $885 installed. Is this a reasonable price??? Not a lot of shops around me to get quotes from...

Is that for both axles? If so I think it's reasonable. The gear sets alone are gonna run you about $400. Another $400 in labor ain't bad.

That's what I was thinking but I didn't want to pay 400 bucks in labor if it only takes an hour to do. Not sure what all goes into re-gearing.

What people have told me when I was thinking about Regearing is it is very very hard and is worth the $400 labor

The shop I bought my lift from wanted to charge me $900 to install it for what he claimed to be an 8 hour job ( I will DIY). So $400 to regear sounds about right. I would pay it because I wouldn't want to try it myself.

On the average around the country it seems as though it is around $1000 to $1200 to re gear both axles, parts and labor.

If you can get a warrantied front/rear regear for under $1000, do it.
