Product Reveiw: Mothers Back to Black

Pulled out my old faded tonneau cover & bikini top for the summer. The covers are over 15 years old, so they have faded quite a bit. I wish I had thought to take a "before" pic, but here are some after using the Back to Black by Mothers. It is $6.00 per bottle. Found it at Auto Zone. Just follow the instructions for fantastic results. THIS STUFF WORKS!

My covers are BLACK AGAIN!

its a good product to restore things but you need to get some aerospace303 or something like that for the UV protection so it dose not fade again. the back to black will last a few weeks with out rain then it will start fading with out UV protection. Just from personal experience with bed covers and faded plastics

That's good info. Thanks.

Where can I get some aerospace303? Auto parts store?

Apply that now & they stay black?

yeah any autoparts store with a good care care section should have it. and spray it now and it will stay black. I'd also do a light mist every month or so just to keep it looking fresh. its also really good for spares so they dont dryrot

Its a great product for sure but if you're looking to keep things from fading and they have heavy uv exposure then they'll probably go back to their original faded look shortly after.

I used back to black on my hardtop and within a few weeks it was faded again...but the other non critical parts i used it on, were great.

back to black is definitely a nice product though...do as iron said and go with a uv protector as well though

BTW, looks great!

303 can be found at marine supply stores as well.

Also available online from detailer websites like Autogeekonline.

B2B is good stuff. You will definitely need 303 to help extend the life of the B2B.

I have quite a bit of a bottle of "Back To Black" someone is welcome to. Yes, it restored the color of my bumpers-----for maybe two weeks and it was time to do it over.

I recently switched to 303 Protectant and they still look good after a month and the sun is tough on things in this area. It even restored my soft top color which I hadn't been able to do with several other products. I could make it look better but nothing close to what 303 did.

I found 303 at the local RV dealer.

Another option to the Aerospace 303 is Poorboy's World Trim Restorer: Poorboy's Trim Restorer: Touching up the trim with Poorboy’s Trim Restorer provides the final polishing step in your quest for the perfect finish.

I've used this on my hard top and it lasted longer than the 303 for me.
