quick tire question

I plan on lifting my Jeep with a 4 inch suspension lift
would the rims I have (15 x 7) fit on 33 inch tires? (I plan on getting BFG A/t's)
I called discount tire and the guy didnt know what I was talking about haha

I don't think so.I was told that it wasn't safe.I don't even think it will fit anyways.
I went to Discount Tire one time. They will not mount and balance the tires on your rims if they are not the stock size,at least thats the way it is here where I live.Needless to say I don't deal with them anymore for any car or truck tires I need.

You can fit a 33x12.5 on that wheel but you may have some rubbing issues. You are going to want to go with a wheel that has more backspacing.

If they are 15x7, yes you can fit them but the will bulge out a bit and possibly rub your springs or control arms. I'd get some new wheels(15x8) with a bigger backspacing. You can get some decent looking steelies from Discount.

ok thanks guys
what would u guys do?
I'm tight on cash
and if I have to buy new rims, I am going to have to wait another 3 or 4 months to get everything together.
If i dont get new rims, just 33 inch tires and a lift, i could get it next month

They honestly don't look like they are 15x7's to me. They look like 15x8's based on how your tire looks on there. Do you have a matching spare? If so pop it off and measure the amount of backspacing on it. Measure from the lip of the rim down to the back of the mounting surface.

All aftermarket should be stamped on the back. Pop one off and see. But, I would go to 8 or 10 inch for the stability factor anyway. The tires will also thank you for it.

Just my 2 cents but have you can get A/Ts in a 10" wide tire and you wouldn't have to go to the 12.50s. Something to think about.

Those are Outlaw II wheels and unless they were some kind of special order they will be 15x8 with 3.75 backspacing.

They should work fine for 33's.

i just looked on the back, their 15x7 J (whatever the J means?)
so if I get a 3 inch lift, will 32's fit? (any pics?)
and what does a 4 inch lift with 32's look like? (pics please)
thanks guys, I'm pretty bummed about my rims

Well if you want to keep those rims you could always spot a set of 33x10.50's on those wheels and probably be fine.

And yes 32's would be fine for a 3" lift. You could even do a 2.5" lift with that size tire.

Yeah, you are going to be a little limited on what tire you can use. I know some of the guys on here know which ones come in that size. But you can run them. Your tires right now are probably 9.50's so the extra inch won't hurt you that much. I ran 31x10.50's on my stock jeep rims for a year and all I had was a little rubbing on the control arms at full lock to lock.
