Rear axle and differential

I have a 97 Wrangler rear axle with a 3.73 ratio. Question: Can I change the pumpkin to 3.53 or lower ratio?

smaller number is a higher ratio..if you are trying to regear for larger tires you would need to go to a higher number such as 4.10 or 4.56 to get a lower gear

The question to ask is why do you want to change your axle ratio?
