Rear Shock Degrees

Hey guys. I'm new on to the forum & I haven't made an introductiory post because I need opinions. quick, but I come here all the time for questions to be answered by others with the same questions. So, my Jeep has been in the shop for some weeks now in the shop, where I bought the Jeep, to get the transmission fixed because it was screwed when I got it. The transmission from 1st gear to 2nd gear vibrates the vehicle because I guess there is too much stress on the transfer case, or the rear shock axels, when you get some speed on it apparently it works just fine, & when he hangs it from the top when there is no pressure on the wheels or anything it shifts perfectly. The mechanic went in & looked at the rear shocks & something else (don't remember) & said that it was at 46 degree angle instead of, what it should be, 15. I'm going to get the jeep tomorrow & taking it to a 4x4 mechanic & I was just curious as to how much it would cost probably to reduce the degrees so my transmission will run smoothly & switch gears on time.

Others more knowledgable will chime in but your shocks have nothing to do with how your transmission shifts. To me it sounds like the transmissions mount is all screwed and that needs to be replaced first. Also what year is your jeep, which engine and auto or manual? That will help diagnose better

@ Jersey Sahara: Well he put a brand new transmission in. But, it's a 2003, it's automatic transmission. 6-Cylinder 4.0L L6 OHV 12V. I believe it has 4 inches of body lift, on 33's.

Probably 4 inches of suspension lift. And that is what is causing the vibrations. Do you have a transfer case drop between the skid plate and frame? Your rear drive shaft is at to steep of an angle. Read up on SYE kits and double cardigan(CV) drive shafts. You will need adjustable rear upper control arms too but that should fix your vibes. So it is an angle with the driveline not the shocks still
