replacing fuel pump, do i have to replace sending unit too!

is it necessary to also replace the sending unit? or can I just put the new pump in th existing unit??thanks guys

NO!!! And at $200 + I did not replace the sending unit even if it was 24 years old. Just follow the instructions with the pump and check your work carefully. A hot tip for the filter screen sock at the bottom check when you drop the pump assy back in that it is facing the center rear helps when climbing hills when low on fuel no starvati

cool, i have a carter fuel pump thats gonna go in, any issues that i should anticipate? not exactly sure how to put the new fuel pump together,, tips?
