Road Trip!

I'm about to take my 01 TJ on a 6 hour road trip up to Maine for a week of camping on the beach. I was just wondering what you guys do before taking it on long trips like this. I plan on changing the oil but is there anything else? I also plan on staying OFF interstates and taking the back roads all the way up.

thats awesome man, i signed up just so i could ask you about your trip. I love Maine, you goin anywhere near Sebago Lake?

For your Jeep, I would say that unless there is any preventative maintenance you know youll need to do soon an oil change is enough, but im not a mechanic... id check my tire pressure and roadside emergency equip...

my buddy and I used to take his TJ sport up and down this mountain trail near Nasons beach at Sebago... beautiful trail with an awesome view at the top, but last time i was there, there was heavy equip... makes me sad... i wonder whats become of it

If by camping on the beach you mean the ocean, be mindful of the tide. It can get pretty high. Have fun!

Just replaced the diff fluids in my 01, what a difference in the way it drives. I'm also seeing more mileage on the odometer

Just one of those things I forget about

I'm going to Hermit Island near Bath, which isn't really an island more of a peninsula. I plan on bringing my handy dandy toolbox just in case anything goes wrong

Check all fluids. Air pressure on all 5 tires. Lights all the way around. Windshield wipers. Tire jack parts all there and working. If you have a security lug, make sure you have the key. Flashlight with batteries.

And Tunes.

If you have been keeping up with your rotation & maintnance...Your good to go..If not take her in and have everything checked before you leave!!

All depends on how you treated her before this.

6 hour trip is really not that long.

The longest I have ever driven it at once is a little under an hour, so it's long for me I suppose.
