Yes, literally anything. The only thing that stops me from wanting a diesel is all the people that think they are so cool "rollin coal"

X2

I really hate it when they get them tuned specifically to "roll coal".

Now, that doesn't stop ME from wanting to swap in a 4bt.

Rollin coal is obnoxious. I've had those geologically ignorant, mouth breathers cloud me with black smoke while the top was down.

(sorry your thread didn't work...)

To be fair if you dropped a 4bt in a tj wouldn't get more mpg therefore making it more of a treehugger

Wouldn't the mpg take a hit if that same 4bt was tuned rich in order to make it blow a filthy black plume of unburned fuel wherever it went?

I doubt anyone here is going to complain about a well running diesel engine. Just keep them out of the hands of the man-children.

One of my friends who always seems to feel the need to blow smoke told me that his mileage usually decreases by about half when he has his tuner set to the "lope" setting which even puffs smoke at idle. I just don't understand why he thinks it's so cool.

This desire has gotten the EPA involved and it is a paper paying problem for the "rollers".

the mpg gains of a 4bt are held back due to its massive amount of weight, and you still get all the vibes. theres really no place for one in a TJ, IMO

now an aluminum block v8, thats a different story

I could see the govt making a mandate to eliminate the ability to get into a "lope" setting due to these idiots. thats how we lose things, a bunch of people abuse them and act like idiots

The EPA was involved in diesel long ago, and the tree huggers are doing everything they can to price everyone out of private vehicles and equalize misery and poverty around the world the want socialized government socialized medicine and socialized transportation and if CO2 is a pollutant then your body needs to be regulated

You want to see real carbon flakes watch your acetylene torch before you add the O2

The black diesel is corney but nice to see more and more people fed up with the left

If there is any validity to the concern over CO2 pollution, then this completely misses the point.

Idiots "rollin coal" are what caused the hippies to require smog checks on diesels in CA. Tune it properly. The most coal you should ever roll on the street is a small puff when it hit the gas before your turbos spool. If you have a 100psi tractor pulling beast, then you will need to make a bit of smoke, just keep it off the street.

yup... the newer diesel trucks burn so clean you can almost breath the exhaust. No smell, no smoke, cleaner burning than the gas vehicles.

10yrs ago people would have used the term 'exhaust fluid' as a joke on the non-mechanic types.... now it is real.
what's next.... blinker fluid and muffler bearings ?

For a teenager, I can see how they would get a few seconds of thrills. A grown man should know better, it's just plain immature in my opinion.

Go spew your political crap elsewhere Try Fox news, don't be a tool on a wrangler forum. If i wanted to hear* political views I would have bought a dodge pick up and got "Country Boy" written on it..... See how throwing politics into a friendly board makes you look like an arrrse

Conservatives and Liberals can both agree that rollin coal is both wasteful and immature. It's their course of action on how to correct this behavior that will vary.

It demonstrated the intolerance of the left and your inability to deal with the truth while trying to silence any descent media or elsewhere

You fools are truly running scared as you should be because the truth is getting out despite your best efforts to prolong the deception

The EPA was coming after diesels long before this silly fad

No It demonstrated political points on the internet are stupid... the original post clearly leaned one way (politically) citing all sorts of nonsense not related to jeeps ie socialized medicine yada yada yada

so I deliberately posted an over exaggerated stance that leans the other way just the show you how there is no need or place for all the crap that here....

Just because I posted something to deliberately show how stupid the original post was doesn't mean i actually care about the left or the right... Politics is all a sham, neither side cares and neither side does anything but try to stay there. The two party system was created to limit opposition and chances for real reform....

I dont give two flying Ducks about fox news, cnn, bush, obama.... its a jeep forum dont be such an donkey its suppose to be fun that was the whole point have a beer, life is too short to worry about politics- nothing you do or anyone does will make a difference in our current political setup!

Well, if you're not political (left) why then would you only site Fox News?

Looks to me like Digger84 hit the nail right on the head!!
