Rotopax Mounting Hardware? Any reviews?

Hey... new guy here!

Getting my 09 Wrangler all set up the way I like it and I'm looking at the Rotopax 3gal gas can from the quadratec site and the "spare tire mounting bracket" by olympic 4x4. I noticed that the bracket looks like it might stick out really far when installed through the spare tire.. even when it's fully collapsed. Rotopax has also just released a spare tire bracket specifically for Jeeps. Neither product specifies the depth of the bracket as far as I have found.
Has anyone used either of these spare tire mounting systems to know how they look or perform. I'd hate for the can to be floating way out in space, and I've never seen anyone with them to know the answer myself. I'm currently running just a stock spare.

Thanks for your help, and "Hi".
